For the Third Sunday in Advent, Delmer and John are getting their jollies from talking texts and preaching. John the Baptist simply will not be ignored, and there is great joy in all of the texts today. Special musical guests are the London Cello Orchestra and the Choir of Clare College, Cambridge performing an updated version of the ancient chant, Gaudete Christus est natus (Rejoice! Christ is Born!)

For the Second Sunday in Advent, the Bubbas are feeling a bit feisty and take on some great texts. Special musical guests are the Norton Hall Band performing a contemporary setting of a classic hymn text, How Firm a Foundation.

It's a new church year and the Bubbas are talking the First Sunday of Advent -- which is always just a bit strange when we've had Christmas music blaring at us in the stores and malls for quite a while! We're called to "remember" and "look ahead" during this season -- oh, and to be patient. What's that all about? Special guest musician is Johnny Cash, with his gospel rendition of Do Lord, Remember Me.

For this final Sunday of Year B, the Bubbas are considering the meaning of the phrase, "It's good to be the King!" No, actually, their musings are a bit higher than that as we consider some great texts that surround the emphasis on the rule of Jesus, "who is and who was and who is to come." Our musical guest today is the late, great Mr. Roy Clark performing Thank God and Greyhound.

For this final Sunday in Ordinary Time, the Bubbas are in hijinks over the gospel text and all such. Fitting musical commentary comes from Jon Brion with the theme from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

For the Twenty-fifth Sunday after Pentecost (and Veterans Day in the US), Delmer and John hold forth on texts and preaching ideas. What do you want me to say -- it's what we do! Closing melody is Rock of Ages, Cleft for Me by Augustus M. Toplady, performed by the Antrim Mennonite Choir.

As the Church Year is winding down, the Bubbas cover texts for All Saints Sunday, as well as the Twenty-fourth Sunday after Pentecost. Closing music is a beautiful setting known as The Litany of the Saints, created by Michelle Sherliza, OP with music by John Becker.
