It's a bonus episode for the Fifth Sunday after Pentecost, as Delmer and John have been flitting about the country quite a bit these past couple of weeks. What we have here is our thoughts from six years ago when these same texts rolled around. Hopefully, you'll find an idea or two for your preaching and preparation this week. Enjoy!

On this Fourth Sunday after Pentecost, the Bubbas are talking good news and rejoicing -- what a great set of texts! Outgoing music is Joy, Joy, Joy (Down in My Heart) -- a "classic" children's song (that may be stuck in your head the rest of the day!)

Elijah, Elisha, and Jesus -- now there's a tremendous trio! The Bubbas elucidate the texts for the Third Sunday after Pentecost and generally have a good time. Special musical guest is Mahalia Jackson bringing us Keep Your Hand on the Plow.

For the Second Sunday after Pentecost (aka, Proper 7 and Lectionary 12), the Bubbas are talking about all those numbers and the texts for this Sunday, too! Special musical guests are Third Day performing God of Wonders.

For this Holy Trinity Sunday, the Bubbas are seeking to live into the mystery a bit as they consider the reality of God as Creator, Savior, Sustainer and a whole host of other trinitarian expressions. Casting Crowns performs Who Am I?, a great reflection on the Psalm 8 text, in particular.

As Pentecost approaches, Delmer and John are talking "Spiritual" things and working the texts. Above all, listen as special guest Coldplay reminds us of a key understanding from the text with Don't Panic.

On this Sunday of the Ascension (aka, the Seventh Sunday of Easter), the Bubbas are ascending the heights with Christ while puttering about below with the disciples. It's good stuff, y'all!
