Turn an ordinary fireplace into glowing, customizable, controllable light art. In this video, I’ll give you an overview of my LED fireplace insert project: 3 layers of laser-cut flame in a plywood base that houses high-density addressable LEDs and a Mini Sparkle Motion controller for easy WLED control.

I’ll show you how the pieces fit together, how the lighting is installed, and some of the effects you can create with WLED. This project is designed to make a non-working or unused fireplace feel like a beautiful focal point again—without real flame, heat, or smoke.
