The easiest way to stop thinking of an elephant, is to think of something else. Think of a Lion. The Lion of Judah. Jesus. When temptation comes, Resist at first. Then you need to find the escape God has provided and use that. Don' keep resisting. You'll fail like you did before. The escape route is the right way out, the different way out. Not the way you came in. Fill your mind with God's word so the temptation disappears.

Meditate on the things of the Lord. Meditate on God's word. The bible teaches us to do this. You tend to worry all day long about the things around you, so you're already good at it. Just shift your focus now to the things above, the things of the Lord and watch how you start winning your battles more.

Communicate. Those around you won't always know and get in touch when you're struggling. Sometimes it takes the last bit of strength to have the courage to reach out, but it will change your situation around. Be quick to listen.

Remember that you're a favoured child of God! People will often plot against you because of envy and jealousy but remember God works it for the good of His people! Joseph was sold off as a slave, imprisoned wrongfully, yet became the 2IC over all of Egypt. Tough times teach and grow us. Remember to praise God in the storm, but remember to praise Him harder in the good times.
