On Left, Right & Centre: Even as Covid cases are on the rise, metro trains have resumed in select cities of the country today, more than five months after they were stopped, with protective measures against the coronavirus. The big question is: How safe is metro travel?

Maharashtra continues to be a worrisome state in terms of number of coronavirus cases. Pune is the worst affected city in the country now. State health minister Rajesh Tope, speaking to NDTV, said indiscipline among people along with unlocking and opening of boundaries has led to the spike in number of cases in Pune. He also said that a sero-survey with a sample size of lakhs is being planned by the end of this month in Pune.

Congress MP and author Shashi Tharoor is known for his wordplay on Twitter that often goes viral. In his new book 'Tharoorosaurus', he shares 53 examples from his vocabulary. Shekhar Suman said the probe into the Sushant Singh Rajput case is a "tad bit too late" but is happy that the process has begun. "It has been two months. The CBI and NCB have moved a tad bit too late. We are happy that at least the process has begun. Better late than never," Mr Suman said.

The Narcotics Control Bureau or NCB is a prestigious organisation and meant for higher purposes, former Uttar Pradesh DGP Vikram Singh said, referring to the NCB's probe into the drug angle in the actor Sushant Singh Rajput case. "This level of recovery would perhaps be of level of a police chowki. NCB normally does not involve itself in such petty cases," said Mr Singh.

Amid allegations of bias, Facebook India chief Ajit Mohan appeared before the Parliament house panel today. The panel questioned Facebook on hiring and political alignments; they were also questioned over commercial ties with BJP government. The company will be called again.

PUBG MOBILE and 118 additional Chinese apps have been blocked by the government today. There are close to 33 million active PUBG players in India. The move was in the interest of India's sovereignty and integrity, defence and security, the government said in a statement.

The Indian Army, now controlling multiple key ridges on the south bank of the Pangong Lake, has effective military control of the entire disputed area in the region. The Army is now in full control of the South Bank of the Pangong Lake by occupying key ridges after a night-time attempt by Chinese forces to grab territory in the area. The Chinese Embassy has said India's move has "grossly violated China's territorial sovereignty, and that these military moves have damaged peace and tranquility along China-India border areas." India insists that the actions are defensive and pre-empted an aggressive Chinese move to push in forces into this region.
