Welcome to the final episode of the Down the Barrel series. In this episode we go over what we would consider Low Tier, Mid Tier, and High Tier rifles in regards to their price tag. We give our insight on ones we have used and highlight some pro's and cons. We talk about why some out perform, or fall short, in their respective price range. With all the rifles on the shelves in today's market, make sure you are choosing the one best suited for you. 

In part 3 of our Down The Barrell rifle series we sit down with accomplished hunter, Remington Stocking, to go over the age old debated question... which caliber is better? Remington has a lot of knowledge in the matter and thoroughly enjoys a good caliber and ballistic conversation. Although a lot of personal opinion can go into selecting which caliber is superior, we pulled some data to compare calibers the YOU submitted to us. We put them head to head, and then we choose which one we are opting to take in the field. Tune in to hear if your caliber made the list, and to find out if you agree with us or not!

In this episode of our Rifle series we get the chance to sit down with our friend, Billy Haynes, to pick his brain on what he finds is beneficial or not so important when it comes to making hand loads. We get into Ballistic Coefficients, Velocity, Sectional Density, and much more about bullets. In the first episode of this multi-part series the LCJ boys explain why bullet selection, and shot placement are one of the most important aspects of rifle hunting. They each have horror stories on past experiences where this very thing came to haunt them. You won't want to miss this series! In this episode, the boys talk about a morning making coyote stands with nothing to show for it, then spending the rest of the day behind a gun. Shooting longer distances than normal proved to be a fun time as they sent bullets down range. Caleb then wraps up the episode with the story of his 2020 Mule deer hunt, where he had to make a tough shot in an awkward position. Hear what this hunt taught him, and how the story unfolds on Caleb's biggest deer to date. 

The boys sit down to discuss the results Caleb and Jarrett had during this past weekend's archery shoot. With them placing 1st and 3rd they were pleased, but still have things to work on. Going along with that, all three boys discuss some of their off-season training and preparation leading into the heat of summer so they can be ready for the Fall. While continuing old workouts, and transitioning to new ones, the primary focus is to train like you hunt.  

Logan and Caleb, with the help of Jarrett as a sub, finish up the regular season tournaments for the TX Panhandle Bass Anglers club. They fell short of first place for team of the year. Tying in overall points, but falling to second place with the tie breaker is always tough, they were still proud finishing towards the top in the first team format tournament series they have fished. Jarrett and Caleb then talk about an upcoming archery shoot and some new changes in their archery set up.  

With Caleb being in Hawaii, Logan and Jarrett take to the mics to discuss Jarrett's weekend in the mountains, along with the changes to his bow set up. The pair then get into the oppurtunity and strategy they plan to use this weekend to win team of the year in the TX Panhandle Anglers bass club final tournament of the year. 

After an event filled  weekend, the boys are all back in the studio to sit down and discuss their highlights. Logan was able to maintain the top position in the TX Panhandle Bass Anglers Club with his sub, while Caleb and Jarrett were down in San Antonio smacking foam at the Total Archery Challenge. Caleb got to see old friends, and Jarrett along with the group left with new friends. One thing for certain, the crew is already getting the next one on the schedule!

In this installment Caleb and Jarret take a dive into the upcoming Total Archery Challenge. They discuss what they hope to come away with and what they're excited about. Caleb also discusses the brotherhood and fond memories he found last year at the same event. We also discuss some listener's opinions on a topic we discussed last week.
