Welcome to episode 42, the LCJ boys get to share the stories and memories from the weekend together at Caleb's new hunting property. Between glassing deer, eating great food, and trying to find some predators it was a full weekend. To wrap up this episode the boys have some fun with a game of would you rather outdoors edition.

This week the LCJ team sheds some light on some hunting opportunities that don't get the attention they deserve, the Texas Draw Hunts. The great State of Texas offers a lot of opportunity for those who don't have access to land, or the time to hunt out of state. The guys go over their plans and certain hunts they have applied for, or will be applying for. They also share some strategies on how they apply for out of state hunts to make their chances better to get out and hunt other states.

In this week's adventures the boys dive into the why's, and why nots of a few new and old deer feeder locations. Caleb and Jarrett get into a sticker patch setting up new spots for whitetail, then turn around and set up some Mule Deer locations in the Texas Panhandle heat. After all that work they still made time for a little summer scouting on new and exciting properties to round out a full weekend.

In part 3 of our Down The Barrell rifle series we sit down with accomplished hunter, Remington Stocking, to go over the age old debated question... which caliber is better? Remington has a lot of knowledge in the matter and thoroughly enjoys a good caliber and ballistic conversation. Although a lot of personal opinion can go into selecting which caliber is superior, we pulled some data to compare calibers the YOU submitted to us. In this episode, the boys talk about a morning making coyote stands with nothing to show for it, then spending the rest of the day behind a gun. Shooting longer distances than normal proved to be a fun time as they sent bullets down range. Caleb then wraps up the episode with the story of his 2020 Mule deer hunt, where he had to make a tough shot in an awkward position. Hear what this hunt taught him, and how the story unfolds on Caleb's biggest deer to date.

The boys sit down to discuss the results Caleb and Jarrett had during this past weekend's archery shoot. With them placing 1st and 3rd they were pleased, but still have things to work on. Going along with that, all three boys discuss some of their off-season training and preparation leading into the heat of summer so they can be ready for the Fall. While continuing old workouts, and transitioning to new ones, the primary focus is to train like you hunt.
