The constant problem we see through the book of Judges is how God's people keep sliding back into idol worship, which is cheating on God!

Think idols bring you closer to God? They never do. The Bible is clear—God never approved of idol worship. Not in the past. Not today. Not ever. You may even be surprised at what the definition of idol worship really is.

"You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself an idol." – Exodus 20:3-4

Statues, charms, symbols—none of them replace the Living God! Worship Him alone in Spirit and Truth.Don’t let deception lead you away!

The story of Ehud, found in Judges 3:12-30, is like a dramatic spy novel. There is a sneaky plan, a surprise attack, a daring escape and a deliverance of an oppressed people. The whole narrative points to God's Sovereignty, which is evident throughout. Please make some time this weekend to read Judges 3:12-30.

The book of Judges shows us that God cares about his people even when his people don't seem to remain true to him. This week, we will talk about how God's people came to this place of judgement and how God will graciously save them over and over. The book really points us to Jesus, who is the ultimate Judge, who will lead his people into the place God has for them.

The background of Judges is listed in chapter 1 and 2. After Joshua's death we will see God's people spiral into sin by following the Baals. What we will see is the need for Israel to get back on track with their relationship to God.
