To simply desire something to change, will not change anything. To want for something, or to wish something would happen is not enough. Ecclesiastes 5:3 says that a dream comes to pass through the abundance of effort. Dreams rarely, if ever, just come true without someone putting some time and effort into bringing it to pass. So if you want something to be different, what are you doing about it?

If you have worked to un-clutter Christmas this year, then maybe the after-Christmas funk will not be as bad for you this year. But even with keeping the right focus, working to magnify the Lord through it all, and celebrating Jesus Christ, you may find yourself a bit overwhelmed with the afterburn of it all.. Post-holiday depression can be real but the very title is dramatic, to say the least. Maybe we should learn to un-clutter it by refocusing it. Instead of seeing it as the blues see it as getting life back to normal. Maybe you can see it as post-holiday normalization.

What we magnify fills our vision and our thoughts. It becomes difficult to focus on anything else because what we magnify becomes so big in our eyes. What we magnify will become big in our life. It becomes difficult to see beyond it. We have to declutter ourselves from the lies that we have magnified in order to see the truth.

The true story surrounding Christmas is filled with mysteries and impossibilities. A virgin receives a mystical visitation from a being that tells her that she has been chosen by God and that she will be overshadowed by the Holy Spirit of God, conceive a child and that that child will be great and save His people from their sins. A promised husband finds out she is pregnant and plans to quietly put her away but he also has a mystical angelic encounter where he is instructed from another realm what he should do. All of this is very much not normal behavior and yet we read it as if it is normal. Still, the entire story is filled with unbelievable impossibilities.
