  • E16: Terms to Know Before Investing

    In this episode of Legacy Wealth Builder, we are learning the basic terms of investing for beginners. It is vital that we discuss the basic terms for our parentpreneurs who are unfamiliar with investing, so you can master the stock market!

    One of the key strategies to building wealth is through investing! Here are the terms I discuss in this episode:

    • Stock: a piece of ownership in a company that can increase or decrease in value.
    • ETF (Exchange Traded Funds): a passively-managed collection of companies with similarities in industries or services offered.
    • Bonds: long term investments; a vehicle that is known for consistent steady growth and used to diversify your investment portfolio.
    • CDs: growth fixed terms savings vehicle (known to diversify your investment portfolio as well).
    • P&E ratio: essential metric that lets you know how much you pay for a stock compared to how much your company is bringing in.
    • ROE (Return on Equity): how efficiently the business is generating profit.
    • Stock market order: buy or sell on a trading venue such as stock market, bond market, commodity, crypto currency and much more.
    • Limit order: buy or sell a stock at a specific price or better.
    • Stop limit order: two prices stop price or a limit price.
    • Market order: to buy or sell goes to the top of all pending orders and gets executed almost immediately.
    • Dividend aristocrat strategy: a group of stocks that you can dollar cost average into and beat the market longterm.

The best advice I have to give parents is to create a narrative in order for your children to better comprehend the scenario, and paint a picture in their mind so that it can be remembered.

        1. What is one or two money memories you can remember as a child?

        5. What are some of your family stories about money when your immediate and extended family gets together?

          In this episode of Legacy Wealth Builder, our discussion is about leading first and managing second, and how parenting and being a business operator go hand in hand.         9. E08: Financial Literacy Mindset Preparation for Kids

          If we are not developing our kids to be more than we were growing up, as well as helping them become more than we are today, then we are not doing our job properly as parents. Our children are supposed to exceed our accomplishments and do more than we ever imagined! There are certain principles in life that are used to build character and resilience for our children that we must allow, no matter how hard it may be. Did you know that some of the principles we learn as children, such as making mistakes and learning how to cope with problems, help us become stronger emotionally? And the stonger your emotions are, the stonger you will be with handling money?


          In this episode, I talk about the practical steps to preparing our kids for financial literacy, which will give them the proper mindset for money management. This is the foundation that you must set in place in order to build your wealthy legacy properly. If the foundation is not sturdy, your family can fall one by one.

        10. E07: 6 Habits To Be of Great Service to your Legacy

          Being of service is basically who you are as a person and what value you bring to others. Having a life of servitude can go a long way with relationships, especially with family, because you operate in the act of servitude everyday. We clothe, feed and shelter our families and make sure they're living comfortably each and every day and we are determined to make this happen no matter what. Although these things are necessities and a requirement of a parent, this is a form of servitude.


          However, being of great service to your family is not only showing them the basics, but also how to lead their legacy with the correct values and fundamentals they need to know in life. The big question is, When you die, will those family members that are left behind be able to fetch for themselves? Will you leave wealth for your family? Will they be able to manage their wealth for generations to come? What are you bringing to your legacy that is of great service?
