This week we were joined in the studio by Sergeant Kyle Thomas of the Dayton Police Department. Kyle is a 17-year veteran of the Dayton Police, president of the Dayton Fraternal Order of Police (Lodge 44), and also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Ohio Police & Fire pension fund. We had a chance to discuss flock cameras, traffic stops, public perception of police, the "blue wall", use of force, and much more. 

This week on Legal Chaos, Nick and Tony take a deep dive into the Keefe D trial for aiding and facilitating the shooting of Tupac Shakur. The shooting of Tupac Shakur was a decades-old cold case until 2019, when, in a memoir, Duane "Keefe D" Davis described the scene leading up to the shooting, wherein he obtained the weapon and handed it to the alleged shooter. Keefe D has since pleaded not guilty and claims the statements he made in his memoir and to the public were exaggerations and fabrications in an effort to sell more books.

On this week's episode of the Legal Chaos Podcast, we kept it in house to discuss the growing concerns of Flock Cameras across the country. Flock cameras are automated license plate readers (ALPR) that capture, store, and track images of your license plates, along with the make, model, and color of your car, and the time and location of when you passed. Proponents of flock cameras claim that they help fight crime. The detractors claim they are an assault on our constitutional rights as Americans, and open the doors of mass surveillance and privacy concerns in the future. 

This week we welcomed Judge Margaret "Peggy" Quinn to the show. Judge Quinn has served her community and country as a federal prosecutor, criminal defense attorney, Magistrate, and elected municipal court judge in Oakwood, Ohio. Judge Quinn is one of the most respected legal figures in the Dayton, Ohio area and has experienced the criminal justice system from every angle. On this week's episode we discussed her time as a AUSA, organized crime, the differences in local and federal cases, inequality in the criminal justice system, expectation of privacy, judicial temperament, criminal defense, and more. 

On this week's episode of the Legal Chaos podcast, we welcome attorney Charles M. Rowland into the studio. Charlie is an experienced Dayton, Ohio defense lawyer with a practice dedicated specifically to OVI/DUI defense. Charlie was the first private attorney in the state of Ohio certified on the Intoxilyzer 8000 breath testing machine. He is a member and graduate of the National College for DUI defense. Charlie has been both a municipal and special prosecutor, holds a Forensic Sobriety Assessment certification, and is ARID certified. On this week's episode we welcome one of our own; Gounaris Abboud's head of Family Law, Lauren Davenport. Lauren is a Dayton native and graduate of the University of Dayton Law School. Before moving into Family Law, Lauren spent 8 years as a general practice attorney and Guardian Ad Litem. Our conversation with Lauren touched on most of her primary duties at Gounaris Abboud; divorce, dissolution, custody, paternity, and advocating for children during their toughest moments.
