Mac Miller was a young rapper with a unique style of rap who took the music industry by storm. After being featured in XXL’s “Freshman Class” list with Kendrick Lamar and Meek Mill, Mac was signed to a label, collaborated with other top musicians, and ultimately released 6 studio albums. Sadly, Mac Miller also struggled with substance abuse issues, which ultimately led to his untimely death after he suffered a fatal overdose from taking what he thought were oxycodone pills but actually contained fentanyl. Tune in as we discuss the aftermath following Mac's death, including the lawsuits against his drug dealers.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard married in 2015 but just a year later, Amber filed for divorce and got a temporary restraining order against him, accusing him of being physically and verbally abusive. Luckily, they reached a divorce settlement but the harmony didn’t last long. Just two years later in 2018, Amber wrote an Op-Ed for the Washington Post about her experience as a victim of abuse. Though Amber never mentioned Johnny specifically, many thought the article was about him and just a year later, Johnny sued Amber for defamation for $50M. Amber then countersued Johnny for $100M. Now, the details of their personal lives are being exposed to the entire world. But what are these lawsuits really about and who is likely to win? Tune in to hear Alexa and Nicole break it all down.

Just last month, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed the “Parental Rights in Education” bill aka the infamous “Don’t Say Gay” bill. Proponents claim it’s meant to give parents more control over what their children learn in school. Opponents say it’s actually a targeted attack against the LGBTQ+ community. But what does the bill actually say and what are the implications? Tune in to hear Nicole and Alexa break it all down.

Akon was once known for being one of the biggest pop stars and producers in the world, and he may have even been the one to discover Lady Gaga. After a good run in the music industry, Akon shifted his sights over to business, including plans to build a $6BN city in Senegal called “Akon City”, meant to be a real life “Wakanda” - an oasis for the Senegalese (except the buildings are pretty phallic-shaped if you ask us). But after years of planning, no city has been built and many question his intentions. Now, his former business partner and best friend is suing him for millions and calling “Akon City” a Ponzi scheme. Oh and the IRS is after him too. Tune in as we break it all down!

On behalf of their son and Naya’s estate, Naya’s ex-husband, Ryan Dorsey, sued multiple defendants, including Ventura County, for her wrongful death. Tune in as we break down the claims.

While Chris Brown has enjoyed a lot of commercial success, with some even referring to him as the “King of R&B”, he’s had many run-ins with the law. From his assault on Rihanna back in 2009, to fighting with Frank Ocean and fans trying to take pictures with him, Chris has been charged with assault and battery many times over. However, his latest lawsuit comes from his housekeepers, one of whom was viciously attacked and mauled by Chris’ dog Hades. Tune in to hear the Legally Judgy co-hosts break down Chris’ legal issues.
