This week’s Tavern Brawl is much like the 100th brawl. Choose a brawl, get a random class and deck to go along with it and then fight another player. Both players are likely not playing the same brawl.

These are the brawls you can choose from.

* Battle of Tol Barad – Play a minion and get a random spell for the same cost, but for free!* Yellow-Brick Brawl – Start the game with Dorothee! The Dalaran Heist has Launched!

There are two chapters available this week.

* You can get started for completely free with the first chapter, The Dalaran Bank, today.* The second chapter, The Violet Hold, is also open today and can be purchased for 700 gold or $6.99.* You may purchase the entire adventure for $19.99, a discounted cost.* Other wings may be individually purchased ahead of time, allowing you to unlock Zayle, Shadow Cloak early.* The remaining three chapters unlock one at a time over the next three weeks.

This Week’s Twists

Each chapter has a special passive mechanic called Twists. These effects are active during all your games in that wing and will change up how you play against each boss. Here are the twists you can expect for this week’s chapters.

* Dalaran Bank (FREE Chapter) – Coin-filled Coffers* A 0/3 Cache spawns on the opponent’s side of the board. Breaking it gives 2 Coins to each player.* The Violet Hold – Imprisoned Minions* At the start of the game a random minion from each player’s deck is locked on the board. It will unlock once enough turns have by that are equal to its mana cost.

How it Works

* You have a special spell in your deck called Offensive Play. This spell costs 0 mana to play.* The next Legendary minion you play and all your other copies cost (3) less.* This effect can stack multiple times.* You are given random legendaries in your deck. You have 4 copies of each of these legendaries. (Max 30 cards in your deck)* The legendaries in your deck are only pulled from your class and the neutral pool of cards.* It is possible to be seeded with the same Legendary multiple times so you can have more than 4 copies of each.

How it Works

* Queue up and receive either Nefarian or Ragnaros as your hero.* Ragnaros starts with 60 Health. His hero power is Molten Rage when initially summoned, which switches to DIE, INSECT! after Sulfuras has been destroyed.* Nefarian starts with 30 Health and 30 Armor. His hero power is Wild Magic.* Each deck contains very special cards with unique playstyles.* Nefarian has an early game advantage in that he starts with extra mana crystals (4) and he can drop some great minions. Tons of RNG through his hero power though, so hope for the best!* Ragnaros is weaker early game but if you get to turn 6 after always using your weapon, you get an amazing hero power. Make sure you mulligan for cheap cards to help!

I was listening to the podcast this past week and Espo was talking about how his luck was so bad when it came to opening packs. In fact, little does he know there is a reason for his bad luck.

Long Long ago, in a flourishing field of paragon flowers outside of Karazhan, the Mighty Espo made the decision to craft his dreams into reality. He crafted the Golden Whizbang the Wonderful to much excitement of the Bronzebeard’s and the Stargazer’s in the tavern crowd! Little did Espo know, he would activate The Curse of the Golden Whizbang.  A curse that lowers the luck for all the unfortunate souls blinded by the golden cards in their hands.

Espo heard about this curse from a Booty Bay Bookie but he didn’t believe her. So with this doubt in mind, Espo performed a thoughtsteal on the Bookie and unfortunately, it turned out to be true.  Espo is now tempted to disenchant the Golden Whizbang the Wonderful, but he has to remember his love for the game will trump all.

So with this knowledge Vastidious, do you have any advice for Espo?

PS I wish you both and everyone else who listens to this podcast good luck with their openings!  (I told him to keep it by the way.) I don’t actually believe in the curse, I thought it just sounded fun. I love the podcast, keep up the good work!
