However, by assuming that role, she breached her contract — several times — according to sources. After repeated warnings, the situation came to a head the week after the Academy Awards and ultimately led to her termination. It was a seismic shake-up at Marvel, where for years Alonso was part of the holy trinity — along with Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige and co-president Louis D’Esposito — who led the Marvel Cinematic Universe to ever-greater heights.

The statement, which was released on Friday night (via Variety), refutes claims that Alonso was fired by Disney due to her work as a producer on Amazon's Oscar-nominated film Argentina, 1985, which they claim violated the specifics of her Marvel Studios contract. Attorney Patty Glaser, who is representing Alonso, calls those reports "absolutely ridiculous" and hints that Alonso had the blessing of Disney to work on Argentina, 1985, even though it was being made by another studio. "The idea that Victoria was fired over a handful of press interviews relating to a personal passion project about human rights and democracy that was nominated for an Oscar and which she got Disney's blessing to work on is absolutely ridiculous," Glaser's statement reads. "Victoria, a gay Latina who had the courage to criticize Disney, was silenced. Then she was terminated when she refused to do something she believed was reprehensible. The application was filed on Friday, March 10, and outlines specific requests for all information corresponding to the user MSSmods, along with any user involved in posting any copyrighted content between Jan. 15 and Feb. 15, 2023.

"This subreddit was created by 'someone' because they hated going to the Marvel Studios subreddit," read the post, titled "This Might Be the End." "They wanted to know about the stuff that was coming up, leaks, spoilers, etc...but they had such a strong policy that you couldn't talk about anything without it being removed, banned, or messaged."

Iger mentioned this change to Earth's Mightiest Heroes while speaking at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference, beginning by saying that there's nothing wrong regarding the Marvel brand, but Disney "just [has] to look at what characters and stories [it's] mining" for future projects. "If you look at the trajectory of Marvel in the next five years, there will be a lot of newness," he continued. "We're going to turn back to the Avengers franchise with a whole new set of Avengers, for example." Iger did not name any characters who would be on the new roster.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, during a Morgan Stanley press conference Iger touched upon Disney’s focus on cutting down costs and "understanding how much volume we need, reducing how much we make." Iger noted, "I’m really pleased that the support that I’m getting from the content creators of the company is significant and real, and it comes in the form of reducing the expense per content, whether it’s a TV series or a film, where costs have just skyrocketed in a huge way and not a supportable way in my opinion. They all agree to that." He continued, "So it’s how much we spend on what we make and how much we make."

Daredevil: Born Again Reveals First Recast Role From the Netflix Series ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Lands ‘Dexter’ Director Michael Cuesta (Exclusive) https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/daredevil-born-again-lands-director-1235346034/ https://www.cbr.com/daredevil-born-again-vanessa-fisk-recast-sandrine-holt/ In Marvel Studios' Disney+ original series Daredevil: Born Again, Vincent D'Onofrio will reprise his role as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin from the Netflix original series Marvel's Daredevil. The villain's wife, on the other hand, has been recast for the upcoming reboot. Back in December, it was revealed that Sandrine Holt (Hostages, Better Call Saul) had joined the cast of Born Again as a romantic interest for one of the show's two lead characters. The Hollywood Reporter now reports that Holt will, in fact, be portraying Vanessa Fisk (née Marianna), the wife of D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk. Vanessa was previously portrayed by Ayelet Zurer in Seasons 1 and 3 of Netflix's Daredevil. This marks the first confirmed instance of Born Again recasting one of the Netflix show's roles. Holt's role being revealed coincides with the news that Born Again's pilot episode will be helmed by Michael Cuesta, of Dexter fame.

Hasbro to Pause Marvel Legends 3-3/4 Retro Action Figures https://www.superherohype.com/geek-culture/528332-hasbro-to-pause-marvel-legends-3-3-4-retro-action-figures

Even as Hasbro expands their offerings of 3-3/4 inch retro Star Wars figures, they’re putting the Marvel version on hold. Though fans joyfully greeted the addition of a vehicle with Ghost Rider (above), the Marvel Legends retro figures will go on indefinite hiatus for now. Hasbro’s quick to note, however, that they aren’t canceled, but “resting.” There’s a chance for a return at some point in the future, but not any time soon.

Fans of smaller scale figures need not worry, as Marvel’s launching a 4-inch line aimed at kids (and their budgets) called Epic Heroes. It’s not considered a replacement for retro, which was aimed more at the inner children of older collectors. But if size and more toyetic design are the appeal, they may work to scratch that figure itch.

When it comes to upcoming projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has one, in particular, he's most looking forward to. "...We talked a little bit about Secret Wars. We talked about Kang Dynasty as related to Quantumania," Feige told Entertainment Weekly, referencing the MCU's current storylines and reflecting on future projects. "The only other one in terms of me personally and my 23-year history is the Fantastic Four. We sort of talked about mutants and that whole aspect to the Marvel world, but Fantastic Four is the foundation for everything that came after in the comics. There's certainly been versions of it [on screen], but never inhabiting the storytelling of the MCU. And that's something that is really exciting for us."

The Marvels Bumps Its Release Date Back to Late 2023 https://www.cbr.com/the-marvels-release-date-late-2023/ Marvel Studios has delayed its upcoming Phase 5 title The Marvels from summer 2023 to late 2023. Announced alongside a brand-new teaser poster for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel, The Marvels is now scheduled to open in theaters on Nov. 10. This is the fifth release date for The Marvels, which was originally scheduled to open back in July 2022. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film was delayed to November 2022 and then February 2023. Marvel Studios had previously had the film set to open on July 28 for this latest delay. No reason was given by Marvel Studios for the film's delay; however, a recent report has claimed that Marvel is looking at having more breathing room between MCU projects to prevent audience fatigue as well as allow the creative times more time in post-production. The report mentions that the Disney+ series Echo and Ironheart are no longer guaranteed to debut in 2023 because of these changes and that development on other projects -- like the rumored Nova series -- will slow down. However, the insiders did not mention if the MCU films would be affected by this decision, so it is impossible to say if that is the reason for The Marvels' delay until Marvel Studios confirms the report, which it has yet to do at the time of writing.

Feige, according to The Hot Mic podcast's Jeff Sneider, is looking to ascend the leadership ladder at Disney, specifically for the position of Walt Disney Studios Chairman. The position in question, currently occupied by Alan Bergman, is essentially the second-highest in the entire Disney corporate structure, just below the #1 spot of the recently reinstated CEO Bob Iger. Feige has long-coveted the position, and "wants to be the #2 at Disney," according to Sneider, who said that he has designs for "being the creative absolute head of a studio who can put his fingerprints on everything and leave maybe the business stuff to someone in the Iger-type of seat, who has to oversee parks, resorts and cruise ships." Indeed, he adds that the longtime Marvel Studios overseer "aspires to be more than the head of a label."

While speaking to io9, Broussard said that he thought one of Phase 4's meta-narratives centered on new characters and mantles taken up by the latest heroes. "If you look at, like, Cassie [Lang in Quantumania] getting a suit and Kate Bishop [in Hawkeye], new characters being introduced like Jack in Werewolf by Night," he explained. "After these first 10 years of Marvel storytelling, torches are being passed, like with Robert Downey Jr. no longer being [on the] table and stuff like that. So it was kind of like a new generation stepping to the forefront which, again, has always happened in the comics."

Encouraged by her new friend and manager Casey (Libe Barer), Lunella dons a costume and an arsenal of homemade gadgets to protect the Lower East Side alongside the beast as the duo Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. However, when the two come across a genuine supervillain in the form of the electrically-powered Aftershock (Alison Brie), Lunella fears she may not actually have what it takes to be a hero.

Per The Direct, Dodd announced that he had begun recording lines for X-Men '97 Season 2 in a now-deleted Twitter post. "Yesterday. Studio. Season 2. GREAT session!" Dodd wrote. In the accompanying video, the voice actor added, "Cal Dodd, voice of Wolverine from X-Men '97. The beginning of Season 2, I say, just the beginning. Strap your seatbelts on, bub. Later."

Meanwhile, Samba TV, which measures viewership across a panel of 3 million U.S. smart TVs, says the Live+4D household viewership was 2.1 million. That’s a notable number, tracking 400% ahead of the same frame for Black Adam‘s 1.5M draw on HBO Max, the same as Disney/Marvel Studio’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and just under that of Thor: Love and Thunder (2.2M).

Bob Iger Says Kevin Feige Was Almost Fired From Marvel in 2015 https://www.superherohype.com/movies/526377-bob-iger-says-kevin-feige-was-almost-fired-from-marvel-in-2015 It’s hard to imagine what the Marvel Cinematic Universe would look like without Kevin Feige, since he has been guiding the studio since its inception. But if controversial Marvel Entertainment Chairman Isaac Perlmutter had his way eight years ago, Feige would have been out. Newly-reinstated Disney CEO Bob Iger claims that Perlmutter wanted to remove Feige as the president of Marvel Studios back in 2015. However, Iger intervened on Feige’s behalf and prevented this from happening. Marvel fans have heard a version of this story before. In 2020, Mark Ruffalo told The Independent that Feige was ready to walk away from the studio of his own free will after the first Avengers movie hit theaters in 2012. Because apparently, Perlmutter (who still oversaw Marvel’s film projects at the time) shot down Feige’s ideas to make the MCU a more inclusive space for female, Black, and LGBT superheroes. It wasn’t until 2015 that corporate restructuring took Perlmutter out of the equation and allowed Feige to directly report to then-Disney chairman Alan Horn. This paved the way for films like Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Eternals to finally get the green light. However, the bit about Perlmutter actually trying to oust Feige from the studio is brand new information. Iger dropped this bombshell while speaking with CNBC about Wendy’s Company chairman Nelson Peltz’s recently-failed bid to get a seat on Disney’s board, which Perlmutter supported. When asked why Perlmutter was so insistent on having Peltz join the company, Iger remarked that the pair have “a curious dynamic.”

I don't want to say too much because there's not a whole lot out there in the world, but it feels very grounded, it feels very spiritual in ways that feel fresh for us. Here's what they said: “I think as trans people, growing up I didn’t get to see myself anywhere, so I didn’t really know that I existed. And especially not in a superhero show or movie. And so I think I just feel deeply grateful and moved that little trans kids and trans teens have something to look at and to know they exist and to know that they can have superpowers, and that that’s where we belong. Per Reddit, the streaming service has placed Wakanda Forever after Moon Knight and before She-Hulk: Attorney at Law in its Marvel Studios section called, "Marvel Cinematic Universe in Timeline Order." With Moon Knight taking place after Hawkeye, which took place around Christmas 2024, and She-Hulk being set during the summer of 2025, this means that the latest MCU movie is set in Spring 2025. Wakanda Forever actually provides clues to this Spring 2025 setting in the film, with the clothing and foliage seeming to indicate Spring as well as Riri Williams' differential equations class only being taught at MIT during the Spring semester.

In Scarlet Witch #1 (by Steve Orlando, Sara Pichelli, Elisabetta D'amico, Matthew Wilson, and VC's Cory Petit), the 616 universe is introduced to a specific character that, up until now, has only ever been seen onscreen as part of the cinematic version of Marvel universe. The character in question is none other than Darcy Lewis. Darcy's role in Wanda's new series remains a mystery. However, it is quickly established that, unlike her MCU counterpart, this Darcy has some dark secrets that she is running from. Whether Wanda can help her in this regard seems like it is being set up to be one of the central plot points of the series.

Thunderbolts Will Serve as Black Widow's Official Sequel https://www.cbr.com/marvel-thunderbolts-black-widow-sequel/ Following Natasha Romanoff's seemingly permanent death in Avengers: Endgame, Johansson's lethal assassin returns in Phase Four's Black Widow-centric solo film. However, a sequel to the 2021's film has been absent from the Marvel Cinematic Universe's slates for Phase Five and Six. In a recent Instagram post to promote the new Art of Black Widow, Marvel Studios Director of Visual Development Andy Park revealed that Thunderbolts will act as a sequel to Black Widow. The film is slated for July 26, 2024, release as part of Phase Five. Although the plot for the upcoming film is still unknown, fans can expect the return of many fan-favorite characters. The team, assembled by CIA Director Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), will consist of six members: Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Red Guardian (David Harbour), John Walker/U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), Ava Starr/Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan). Blankenship also wrote for Arrow and The Last Ship. Zach Reiter has Law & Order: Organized Crime and CSI: New York, under his belt.  Grainne Godfree wrote for Arrow, The Flash, and 20 episodes of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Godfree even co-show ran the CW show. Devon Kliger is a former development executive turned screenwriter. Aisha Porter-Christie was also on the team as a consulting producer. Porter-Christie has written for Orphan Black, Shadowhunters, Briarpatch, and the upcoming The Boys’ spinoff Gen V. Chris Ord and Matt Corman are helming the show. Julius Onah will direct the pic with Falcon and the Winter Soldier showrunner Malcolm Spellman writing the script along with Dalan Musson. Mackie returns to reprise his role as Sam Wilson but instead of playing his alter-ego Falcon he has been tapped as the new Captain America following the series finale of Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Not much else is known regarding the project and Roquemore’s new role is also being kept under wraps. The film is set to bow on May 3, 2024
