Vontaze DeLeon Burfict Jr is a former American football linebacker. He played college football at Arizona State. Considered the most highly ranked football prospect Arizona State ever signed to a letter of intent, Burfict was recognized as an All-American in 2010 and projected an early first round pick for the 2012 NFL Draft. However, a mediocre on-field performance and poor pre-draft workouts diminished his draft stock, resulting in him not being selected. He was subsequently signed as an undrafted free agent by the Cincinnati Bengals, where he played for seven seasons.

Tracy Donald Jones was born March 31st, 1961, in Hawthorne, California. Jones was a standout baseball player at Lawndale high school and would go on to play outfield for Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Tracy would be drafted by the New York Mets in the 4th round of the 1982 amateur draft, but he did not sign. In January of 1983, Jones was selected as the first overall pick of the secondary phase of the amateur draft by the Cincinnati Reds.

The Rally Monkey was officially created on June 6, 2000, in a game against the Giants at Angel Stadium. Video board operators Dean Fraulino and Jaysen Humes had no clue how big it would eventually become for the organization.

Carlos Juan Delgado Hernandez was born June 25th, 1972, in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico to Carlos “Don Cao” Delgado and his mother Carmen Digna Hernandez. Both Don Cao and Carlos’ grandfather, Asdrúbal “Pingolo” Delgado, were prominent figures in Aguadilla, and while Carlos admits that this made him feel “protected”, he wasn’t allowed to be a kid or get in trouble. At the age of 16, Carlos had 5 different major league baseball organizations knocking on his door in attempts to sign him. He eventually chose to sign with the Toronto Blue Jays in 1988, but was intent on graduating from José de Diego High School in 1989 before beginning a journey to the major leagues.

Drew McQueen Bledsoe was born February 14th, 1972, in Ellensburg, Washington, to Mac and Barbara Bledsoe, who were both school teachers. The Bledsoe’s moved five different times before Drew reached the sixth grade, but they’d finally settle in Walla Walla, Washington. Drew attended Walla Walla High School where he lettered in football, basketball, and track, and his father served as his football coach. It was in football that Drew received numerous awards, and was named the Washington State Player of the Year. 

Chad Javon Johnson was born January 9th, 1978, in Miami, Florida. When Chad was very young, his mother, Paula, moved to Los Angeles with his younger brother, Chauncey, but sadly did not take Chad with them. Chad’s father would be in prison for almost all of his childhood and the two would not meet until Chad was out of high school. Instead, Chad was raised by his grandmother, Bessie Mae Flowers, and her second husband James, who Chad called “Granddaddy”. Bessie Mae attempted to keep Chad busy with soccer, football, and basketball, despite the fact she was a teacher and counselor, she just couldn’t get him to focus on schoolwork.

Maurice Christopher Jones-Drew was born March 23rd, 1985, in Oakland, California, to Sidney Gayles and Andrea Drew. Maurice was raised in Antioch, California by his maternal grandparents, Maurice and Christina Jones, and would attend De La Salle High School in Concord. Maurice competed in track and football during high school, playing both linebacker and running back. De La Salle owns the record for the longest winning streak in high school football history, with 151 straight wins, and fortunate for Jones-Drew, his teams were part of that 151 game win streak.

Kenneth Leonard Carter was born September 12th, 1973, in Westerville, Ohio, just northeast of Columbus. Kenneth would go by the name Ki-Jana, nicknamed to him after a character from ‘Shaft In Africa’, and has gone by that name since his birth. Carter attended Westerville South High School where he starred in basketball, track, and football; earning All-American honors at running back, in 1991. Following graduation, Ki-Jana decided to attend Penn State University and play under Joe Paterno, plus, Ohio State already had Eddie George.
