This week on Legends & Spirits we’re heading to the Pisgah National Forest in the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina where the legends are as thick as the 800 square miles of wilderness. We’re talking hangings, murders, mysterious lights in the sky, headless ghost cats, and one of the biggest and most haunted mansions in the country!
For our Macabre Mixology we’ll be celebrating the Appalachian tradition of Moonshine with a delicious cocktail brought to us by fellow mixologists, Jay and Leah Hall. This libation is sure to be a good "thyme"! We’ll also give you a little history of this high-octane spirit that’s sure to get your engines revving.
In this week’s Spooky Saloons, we’re venturing to the outskirts of the Pisgah National Forest to Asheville, NC to discover a darker past to this food and drink loving town. And we’ll tell you about a local haunt known for an unlikely speciality and an apparition who roams the dark in search of..."patients" - you’ll see.
