“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” Matthew 6:24

Mammon definition: wealth regarded as an evil influence or false object of worship and devotion. It was taken by medieval writers as the name of the devil of covetousness, and revived in this sense by Milton.

For your devotion and worship, the State grants you permission to commit sin and evil. 

The State endorses fornication and sodomy in defiance of the word of God.

The State sanctions the murder of babies, even to the day they are born, because they are “inconvenient” to the mother.

The State supports and promotes covetousness. If you vote for them, they will take away your neighbor’s money and give it to you.

The State persecutes Christians on behalf of the sinner and those who have given their souls over to Satan.

You have a choice to make. You can obey God’s law and word first or you can worship the state and put God second.

Love the sinner, but hate the sin.

Satan has worked his lies throughout the world and convinced the faithful to remain silent in the face of sin and depravity. 

Just because a sin is popular and sanctioned by man does not remove the evil from it.

As children of God we have been promised that he will care for us and bless us. However, Satan and the world deceive us and confuse us and cause us to forget.

Can you be a blessing to others?  Too often we expect God’s blessings to arrive on the wings of angels, not from the hands of our neighbors. 

Often God will use others to care for you and watch out for you.

What does it mean to Covet? Does it mean to be jealous or envious? 

“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.” Exodus 20:17

Why is the sin of covetousness so dangerous to society? Where does this sin lead?

Does the State, the Government sin by inspiring and encouraging covetousness?  Socialism leads to covetousness and is a pathway to sin.

What your mind desires most is what your heart will worship first.

Do not make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, for when they prostitute themselves to their gods and sacrifice to them, they will invite you, and you will eat their sacrifices. And when you take some of their daughters as brides for your sons, their daughters will prostitute themselves to their gods and cause your sons to do the same.

The downfall of the United States shall come from the desire to coexist with evil. But, there is hope.

Exodus 34

1Observe what I command you this day. 7At that time on a hill east of Jerusalem, Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab and for Molech the abomination of the Ammonites. 8He did the same for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and sacrificed to their gods.

God’s Anger against Solomon

9Now the LORD grew angry with Solomon, because his heart had turned away from the LORD, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice. 10Although He had warned Solomon explicitly not to follow other gods, Solomon did not keep the LORD’s command.

11Then the LORD said to Solomon, “Because you have done this and have not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded you, I will tear the kingdom away from you and give it to your servant. 12Nevertheless, for the sake of your father David, I will not do it during your lifetime; I will tear it out of the hand of your son. 13Yet I will not tear the whole kingdom away from him. I will give one tribe to your son for the sake of My servant David and for the sake of Jerusalem, which I have chosen.”

The Bible is filled with words of encouragement, words that we have been given to help strengthen our faith.  Consider the words of David in the Psalms.  In the book of Acts we are reminded;

After He had removed him, He raised up David to be their king, concerning whom He also testified and said, ‘I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man after My heart, who will do all My will.’  Acts: 13:22

Fewer words are more famous than Psalm 23. I particularly appreciate the KJV version.
