This Week in Legion History starts off the show, where Paul learns that 950 years from now, we’ll see the first appearance of Ultra Dillinger. This sends Paul to the time bubble all the way back to March of 2009, where Darren, Matt and Paul faced their fears as well as the Attack of the Crimson Virus in The Condemned Legionnaires, and learn that the Super Villains of All Ages is not a video dance party at all!

You too can thrill to the idea of Ultra Boy talking like Edward G Robinson, and Superboy saying “Wunderbar”, The Super Pets saving the day again, and to the Substitute Podcasters showing some love for Tony Bedard and Andy Clarke’s R.E.B.E.L.S.

The three groups of legionnaires all face different challenges.  Science police are hunting down Ultra Boy on Rimbor, Space Pirates from Ikonn have taken down the UP Young Heroes, Peril Men, and Legionnaires on Velmar V and Colonel Pismo of the Science Police in the bridge of Legion HQ.  The resolution involves some of the youngest legionnaires showing their prowess.  Jim Shooter’s original scripts are discussed, Brent has some theories and Derek debunks them.

Inferno hangs out at the mall with a new crowd, meets an existential Panda, and turns up the heat… perhaps a bit too much!

Derek and Brent discover a whole new respect for Shooter and Manapul in LoSH Volume 5, issue 43, as they enjoy their world-building, comedy antics, and the respect shown for what has gone before in the threeboot.  In addition, we get to meet up with lots of supporting cast characters (who may or may not be Legion fan references). Appearing in this issue are the new UP Young Heroes (including Spy, Sonar, Voice and Gazelle), the UP President’s Deputy Chief of Staff (Zilya Popoff), SP Officers (Colonel Pismo, Corporals Miller & Crowley, Sergeant Stuhldreher and officer Layden), M’Rissey, UP Auditors (Buptkie & Spondulix), the Peril Men and the Ikonns  (Ikillies & Cazhmir).  We also explore some new locales including the  L’Kad Temple Complex on planet Velmar V, Carmine’s Custom Actionwear in Metropolis and the city of Ta Rshish on planet Rimbor.

The Legionnaires meet up with Superboy, and stuff slides quickly sideways.

Derek and Brent discuss the Legion’s new unis (uniforms) and Chameleon’s lack of vestments.  The away team on Rimbor put up one hell of a fight.  Garth finally has a win against Popoff…  Or does he?
