“Find something that you love. Something that gets you so excited you can’t wait to get out of bed in the morning. Forget about money. Be happy.” Chris Gardner
When I was working for various companies in the cooperate industry people used to proudly say to me that various aspects of the business keep them up at night. At the time, I found it kind of wanky – and now that I reflect on it, I still find it wanky.
Wanky - contemptible, worthless, or stupid.
My thought is that being kept up at night is first and foremost unhealthy. Secondly, I'd suggest for whatever keeps us up at night is a good indication that we are not doing enough about it, to solve the core root of the problem so we can again rest easy at night.
I also would ask why? Why is it keeping you up? Is it that important? If what keeps you up isn't the motivation getting you out of bed each day then there is a discrepancy with the reality and level of its true importance. Perhaps there is something deeper keeping you up at night. Something you need to address. Something to motivate you to get up every day to make some change.
This is the thought I explore in this episode. Enjoy!
