My guest on today's episode is A.I. Ramos.

Andrea is a poet, a zine writer and a big animal lover. She is an inter-sectional feminist, environmentalist, and proud latinx. Her poetry and writing consist of topics such as abortion, mental illness and health, immigration, education, domestic violence, addiction, healing, sexuality, identity, race, community, gender, culture, media, and all its effects on the self. Her first self-published poetry book, Gritty, begins the journey of everything shes had to come to terms with and how to deal with her traumas, never before speaking out about it in such a manner. Her second self-published book, Moth Baby, continues her journey in a new light even when it seemed there was no escape. The third book is an anthology published by Alegria where they featured over 45 latinx writers. Check out her podcast Getting Gritty with Andrea. This podcast is about reading and discussing the poems of published poetry collections and any other works by author A.I. Ramos as well as the important issues they strive to bring to the table. Let’s talk about the taboo, the uncomfortable, the harsh, the gritty and the beauty and healing to be found in it all. On this episode we talk about her writing, anxiety and some helpful tips on how to help you to deal with it.

My guest on today's episode is Lola La Poeta. She is a poet, a zine writer and a big animal lover. She’s been killing the poetry scene by promoting peace, love, and empowering women. Her ultimate goal in life is to help young people discover their true path/power in life and spread as much love as possible. This is our second time sitting down with me, the first time she came to prompt her Zine titled, “Brain Chemistry.” On this episode Lola is promoting her new project “Learning How To Love”, Learning How to Love is a web-only chapter series that follows a young college student, Lola, as she figures out if she’s meant to repeat the same mistakes her father did, or if she’s destined to break the cycle. Lola appears seemingly innocent, but actually juggles multiple romances while her long-distance boyfriend remains clueless. In this episode we take a deeper look at the person behind the very successful poet known as Lola La Poeta. We find out about the journey that she has been on to find herself in this crazy world that we are living in. We also find out how she is staying sane, living with depression and not being able to socialise due to Covid 19.

Cesar is a teacher and the creator of The Heart of the Harbor Wilmington.The Heart of the Harbor Wilmington is a project created out of dreams. A dream where people share their personal life experiences in an effort to provide life advice. The goal is for people to take a little time out of their busy lives to listen to what others have to say and learn something from others' experiences. Everyone has a story to tell and advice to give. This project is simply the vessel that shares everyone's story and highlights the one advice that they would want to share with the rest of the world. The project takes place in Wilmington, Ca., a small but proud community that is the heart and backbone of the Los Angeles Port. The project focuses on anyone who lives, works, volunteers, or has previously lived in Wilmington. In this episode we find out about Cesar, why he started The Heart of the Harbor Wilmington, and what he hopes to accomplish through his project.
