The creator God is a god who can be known. God has revealed who He is through his Holy Word. God is a god of relationships and desires to have restored, growing, personal relationship with you! The question is: will you seek to know God through His Word? Will God’s Word be the great joy and love of your Life?
Come join us this week and take a journey of discovering the redeeming qualities of the Word of God. You will not be disappointed.

  • The Sky is Preaching | Psalm 19
    February 22nd, 2026
    Pastor Bill Shiflett
God’s glory is on full display in creation. How do we daily respond to His glory in Worship? How does the glory we observe lead to a Gospel conversation?
David beautifully describes the way God constantly shows His majesty as we observe the heavens and the world around us. If we are not careful, we miss the glory of God that surrounds us. The world will say “stop and smell the roses.” God’s word challenges us to see the creation and give honor to the Creator of all things.
    Join us this weekend.

  • From Running to Refuge| Psalm 16
    February 15th, 2026
    Pastor Chad McDonald
The first chapter of Jonah is one of my favorite passages. Interwoven into the story of Jonah’s fleeing from God’s call is the story of a group of sailors who have an unexpected encounter with God that radically alters their lives. Because of Jonah, they face a storm. At first, they pray to their gods and try everything in their own wisdom and power to get themselves out of this horrible situation. Nothing works. Everything they have relied on in the past; their gods, and their own wisdom and power won’t fix this problem. When they finally confront Jonah, who fears the Lord God of heaven, they become extremely frightened. Deep inside these men, just like us, is a knowledge of God that God has placed there. In our sin and disobedience, we suppress that truth, but it is always there. When we are confronted with storms, the truth often finds its way to the surface. We are confronted with the knowledge of God.
What those sailors do next is amazing. They pray to God. They ask for forgiveness and then carry out the judgment of God on Jonah as Jonah had directed them. The storm quits raging. They make it to shore, offer sacrifices to God, and make vows. These men who set out that morning on a routine voyage ended up facing a storm that caused them to run to God, have a personal encounter with Him, and their lives and eternity were changed.
Where do you turn when you encounter the storms of life? What idols do you look to? Do you rely upon your own wisdom and strength? When those fail, where do you turn? Do you have an unshakable foundation in your life that carries you through the storms? David had an unshakable foundation in the Lord. The Lord was his good, his delight, his counsel, his refuge, his inheritance, and his eternal joy and hope. This foundation provided him the strength to navigate the storms and even give him confident hope in the face of death.
I pray that you will join us as we walk through Psalm 16. It is going to be another great weekend with God’s people. I hope to see you at church!

  • How Majestic Is Your Name | Psalm 8
    February 8th, 2026
    Pastor Chad McDonald
The deepest desire of every human heart is to know that someone cares for them. Is there anyone out there that really cares about me?
As we turn our attention this weekend to Psalm 8, you can almost imagine David as a young shepherd staring into the night sky. He sees the vastness of God’s creation displayed in the heavens. He considers the majesty of the God who has created all that he sees and is overwhelmed that this same God would care for him. Not just care for him, but love him, know him, and be concerned with his life and activity. The stability of David’s life was rooted in the knowledge that God loved him. Now, more than ever, we need this same stability. In a world where we face all kinds of intellectual and atheistic pressures, we can stand firm because we know that our heavenly Father cares for us.
I pray that you will join us this weekend as we worship in song, in the study of God’s Word, and in the observance of the Lord’s Supper.

  • Choose Your Own Adventure | Psalm 1
    January 25th, 2026
    Pastor Chad McDonald
This weekend, we’re going to dive into one of the most incredible portions of Scripture: Psalm 1. The search for the secrets to life, success, and fulfillment goes back to creation. If people only knew they could find true fulfillment by simply opening their Bibles, devoting their lives to Jesus, and faithfully meditating in God’s Word, everything would change.
As we begin our study into the Psalms, God reveals in this first chapter how to attain a life filled with God’s promises, protection, and blessing. It all begins by committing our lives to studying the truth and depth of His Holy Word, the Bible. I look forward to having you worship with us this weekend in person or online. It’s going to be a sweet time in the study of God’s Word together.
    In Christ,

  • What is a disciple?
    January 11th, 2026
    Pastor Chad McDonald
Christianity is not simply the accumulation of knowledge. It is the transformation of our lives into the image of Christ and then transferring what we have come to know and experience to others. It is the passion of Christ because it is the passion of the Father. It should be our passion. It is our mission. The work of Christ and the gospel is not left to the trained professionals. It is something that God has called us to do. It is helping men and women realize both their full potential and great joy in serving the Lord. It is not sitting in the stands. It is getting into the game.
At the beginning of each year we take time to remember and refocus ourselves on the mission given to us by Christ. Just like any organization, the church is prone to mission drift. I pray that you will join us this weekend as we refocus and recalibrate our lives upon the Great Commission.

  • Money, Faith and True Freedom | 2 Corinthians 9:1-15
    January 4th, 2026
    Pastor Chad McDonald
Within discipleship settings, I have found that Christians are willing to talk about a wide variety of subjects. What is seldom discussed, however, is the blessing that is promised to those who have a gospel view of the use of their money. On that subject, there is normally silence. They say that it is the sign that a person has truly been converted when they begin to give away their money. It was certainly the sign that Christ gave for the changed heart of Zacchaeus. I believe it is no less true today. What lies behind such a change in our heart? What is it about the gospel that releases us from a bondage to money and to find contentment in Him? And more than this, what are the principles for viewing our money in a gospel way? Are there any laws or specific commands?
We will dive into this incredibly significant area of life this weekend in our worship services. I pray you will make plans to join us. I promise that there will be no high-pressure tactics or manipulative efforts to coerce you into giving. My prayer is simply that God would work in all our hearts as we seek to view the resources that God has given us through the lens of His truth and the gospel. Let’s start the year off with a fresh commitment to attending church. As a fellow pastor, Dean Inserra, is well-known for saying, “The local church is the best thing going today!” I’ll see you this weekend.

  • A Faith that Pleases God | Genesis 12:1-3
What is the appropriate response to Christmas? At its heart, Christmas is the grace of God appearing in flesh to die and defeat death for us so that we might have salvation through faith. What is the application of such a divine truth that has penetrated our hearts? The appropriate response is faith. But what exactly does that look like in our everyday lives?
I hope you will make plans today to join us for one of our many worship opportunities this weekend.

  • The Promise of the Coming King | Isaiah 9:2-7
Man can live about 40 days without food, about three days without water, and about eight minutes without air, but man cannot live a second without hope. Our world is filled with hopelessness. It burdens my heart to think about how many people walk through the doors of LBC each week in a state of hopelessness. A business executive who has let the pursuit of worldly success ruin her life and lead her down a path of destruction. A father who has lost his job and feels embarrassed and humiliated. A man or woman who has received a devastating health diagnosis. My prayer is that as they arrive here at LBC, they would begin to find hope. Not a hope that is found in a program or even a payment but a hope that is found in the person of Jesus Christ.
Biblical hope comes from a divine intervention. God Himself entering into time and space and history to save us from our dark and sinful condition. Isaiah 9 reminds us of that hope. Isaiah 9 is Isaiah’s way of saying, “Keep your fork!” The story isn’t over. The best is yet to come. Hope is on the way! I pray you will make plans today to join us for worship this weekend as we examine the hope of Christmas in a prophecy made 700 years in advance of Christ’s birth.
“For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.” — Isaiah 9:6
