Exodus 1:1-7  We begin a brand new series this week with a study through the book of Exodus. Here we learn all the essentials of what it means to be the people of God. The birthplace locates itself in a story already being told from Genesis, unveiled in an eternal conflict, but guaranteed by the grace of Yahweh. 

Sometimes it's necessary to fathom the bad news before the good news of the Gospel really "lands" in the hearts of Jesus' followers. However, with the breaking of the covenant of works, God institutes a new and better "covenant of grace" to redeem his people. 

No worldview is helpful that does not address the questions surrounding the problem of evil in the world. In Genesis 3, we find that evil emerges from the human heart, yes, but there is also a malevolent personality behind it that is pushing us to self-destruction.

A story is only as good as its plot. And the plot leads the reader into the meaning behind the action of the story. It explains why the characters make the choices they do. "Covenant" is the essential element of the Bible's storyline that does just that.

Character development in a good story is what draws you in and helps you relate to what's being told. Mankind is the crown of God's creation and is created with a purpose and a mission.

In a well told tale, the setting of the story is the most important element to guide the listener into the meaning of the story. What does it mean that we are introduced to a supernatural universe in God's Word?

One of the biggest problems with Bible interpretation is getting the Bible's perspective on ITSELF before you start reading it. The Bible comes to us as a Story. And that dramatically changes how we read it.
