The Bible tells us that we're to correct each other whenever we compromise scriptural doctrines or truths. However, the idea of approaching a brother or sister who might be stumbling in their walk can be pretty intimidating. In today's edition of Lessons for Living, Pastor Mark expands upon the teachings of Jesus to help us better understand how we should approach one another. In our study, we learn the importance of correcting one another through prayer, love, patience, and grace. This of course comes by the strength and wisdom of God's Spirit.

1I'm sure you've heard people say, “judge not lest you be judged!”. Most

2people look at this portion of Scripture and think that God is telling us

3not to judge others. This is simply NOT the case. In today's lesson,

4Pastor Mark teaches us that there are areas where we can and should be

5judging. He explains that judging isn't a chance to be cruel to a person

6or drag them through the mud. If we see a person in error and this error

7will either cause them physical or spiritual damage...we are to, in love,

8bring to light their sin. This is to be done so that hopefully repentance

9and restoration can take place. But remember, before we judge others,

10let us examine our owns hearts first. Make sure there isn't a “plank” in your own eye.

1Many people today say that they believe in God, but do they REALLY

2believe in the God of the Bible? In today's teaching, Pastor Mark

3teaches us that its not about saying we believe in the existence of God,

4but it's about having a relationship with Him. You see, if we truly

5believed in the God of the Bible, then we would want to please Him by

6living a life of obedience to His Word. Jesus said, if you love me, keep

7my commands. Pastor Mark also shares with us the dangers of

8worrying. The physical repercussions of a life of anxiety and worry are

9scary within themselves. But then we have to consider WHY we worry?

10We worry because we lack faith and trust...we worry because we don't believe God.

1Are you a worrier? Do you constantly think about the “what-ifs” in life?

2You see, as believers, when we worry, we are showing our lack of faith

3and trust in God's plan for our lives. If we love the LORD with all our

4heart...leaning on Him and His Word for understanding...we have

5nothing to fear! Pastor Mark explains that worry is ACTUALLY faith in

6the negative. He also explains how worrying or being anxious affects

7the body. As believers, worrying robs us of our joy! The book of

9Proverbs, shows us that an anxious heart weighs a man down. Pastor

8Mark explains that its okay to consider life and plan for the future, but its

10 a different story when we allow the “what ifs” to consume our lives.

2most we devote most our time to has our hearts. Pastor Mark asks the

3question: Where is your heart? Are you focused on your job, your

4money (or the lack of it), your family, your hobby? You see, none of

5these things are necessary bad to think about or value, but have you set

6them BEFORE God? We learn that looking at our lives through the

7Lord's eyes...having an eternal perspective is best way for us to focus on

8what our priorities should be. How can we see through God's eyes? By

9seeking Him through prayer and the reading of the Holy Scriptures, we

10can know His character and His nature. We will become more like Him.

1Man has generated many different ideas of what HE thinks is the right

2approach to God and religion. Some believe that if you are a child of

3God, then you must be prosperous...and even rich! Others think that

4as believers we should live like paupers...wearing rags while wallowing

5in false-humility. But what is God's approach? How does HE want us to

6live in Him? Today, Pastor Mark presents us with questions from Jesus.

7These questions will help us to refocus on God and His Ways...His

8approach and not man's. We also learn what is really means to lay up for

9yourself treasures in Heaven. Pastor Mark tells us that our soul IS the

10single greatest treasure that we can store up in Heaven.

1As humans, temptation is a real part of life. We are tempted everyday.

2As we see in today's lesson, we can ask God to help us resist these

3temptations! You see, our enemy is clever...he knows how to tempt us,

4but thankfully our Father in Heaven is ready and willing to help us walk

5away from these things that draw us away from Him. So by submitting

6to God and asking for His protection...we can flee from the temptations

7that are put in front of us. In today's teaching, Pastor Mark also

8encourages parents to take an active roll in protecting their children from

9today's temptations. He suggests setting up moral fences to keep you

10AND you family far from these dangerous temptations.

1Have you been hurt or betrayed by someone you love, a boss, coworker

2or even a friend? It is often hard to deal with hurt, especially if it was

3done by someone close to you. But the Scriptures teach us to deal with

4these issues...and quickly. You see, if we become offended by someone

5and never deal with it...then there can be no forgiveness. And having no

6forgiveness can give the enemy a foothold in your life. Pastor Mark

7teaches us that by not handling our hurt that we can allow a root of

8bitterness to creep in our lives. This, of course, will only cause more

9problems than the “hurt” itself. You see, just as our Father in Heaven

10has forgiven us, we need to be ready and willing to offer our forgiveness to others.
