2answer will be...Yes. You see, the Scriptures teach us that we are all
3sinners. We have all fallen short of the glory of God. So once we come
4to the realization that we ARE sinners...then what? The answer is, Pray.
5Pastor Mark teaches us that we are to daily ask God for His forgiveness.
6Along with that we are to also extend forgiveness to those around us...
7those who may have caused us harm. This step of obedience is very
8important because if we can't learn to forgive our neighbor of these
9small trespasses, then how can we expect our Heavenly Father...who is
10righteous...to forgive us of all our unrighteousness...all our lawlessness?

1Can you recite what is known as “The Lord's Prayer”? Most people
2would answer YES to this question, but do they know WHAT it means?
3Well, in today's lesson, Pastor Mark shares with us what Jesus is trying
4to teach us through this blueprint for our prayer-life. We learn that our
5”Daily Bread” is so much more than the food on our plate. It is, in fact,
6our daily needs...both physically AND spiritually. Our next breath is
7given by God! HE IS the giver of life! You see, we need to depend on
8Him for our EVERY NEED! He is our provider...our hope and our
9salvation! So the question is, do you boast in your independence or do
10you boast in your Heavenly Father whom you can depend on for EVERYTHING?

1We know that without a relationship with the God of the Bible, we have
2no hope...no true peace. Then why is it that so many people today
3choose to live without Him? Pastor Mark suggests that it is a result of
4their self-sufficiency. You see, when people begin to depend on their
5own understanding, their own ideas...rather than the ways of God, they
6are refusing to see the path that God designed for them. And while they
7may appear successful and happy in this life, sadly, they ignore eternity.
8They also ignore the fact that whether or not they believe it, God allows
9their every breath! We can do nothing without Him! So as believers, let
10us remember to pray after the model given by God...He WILL provide for all our needs.

1When we pray, we are to pray in the character and nature of God our
2Father. You see, when we close our time of prayer with the phrase: “In
3Jesus name”...it's more than just a “wrapping up” of the prayer. It means
4so much more than that. In today's lesson, Pastor Mark shows us the
5different meanings for the many names of the God of the Bible. We learn
6that God is merciful...God is our provider...God is our salvation. And just
7as God's name carries meaning...so does ours. Does YOUR character...
8your nature reflect a right relationship with God? Are you merciful
9toward others? Slow to anger? Rich in His Love? So, not only are we
10to BE like Jesus and walk like Jesus, but we are to also pray as He did.

3we learn that Jesus laid out for us a blueprint for prayer. And in Chapter
4 six, Pastor Mark breaks down the verses to show us how we are to
5approach our Heavenly Father in prayer. You see, if you are NOT a
6believer in Jesus...you CANNOT approach God until you have prayed
7 the prayer of salvation! You must first come to the understanding that
8 you are a sinner... in need of a savior. With that realization, then comes
9 confession...restoration AND THEN that line of communication between
10 you and the Creator of the Universe will be open.

1Prayer is vital in the life of a believer. It is how we communicate with
2our Heavenly Father. In today's lesson, Pastor Mark teaches us that
3there are rewards for prayer. He shows us that when we are in need,
4when we cry out to God for help or revelation...it is during those times
5that we grow closer to Him...that we begin to see His true character and
6nature. When we “think” we're fine and in need of nothing, we often
7forget to pray. Pastor Mark tells us that one of the biggest errors in the
8Church today is that we simply DON'T PRAY. We get bored or busy or
9even forget that we NEED to communicate with God on a daily basis.
10James sums it up for us saying, that we do not have...because we have
not asked.

7How NOT to pray. You see, the Pharisees often prayed so that they,
8themselves could be heard. True, biblical prayer is a two-way street. Yes
9we can lift up our petitions to the Father, but first and foremost, we must
10learn to be still and LISTEN to the voice of our LORD.

1As believers in Jesus, we are called to live a life of obedience to His
2Word. We are also called to use the talents and gifts we have been given
3BY Him for HIS glory! In today's lesson, we learn that God will reward
4our obedience. We also learned that if we look for credit or rewards
5while here on earth, then our motives might not be pure. In fact, they
6could be selfish motives. We cannot take credit for a gift that was given
7to us by GOD...He deserves all the glory. Not us. Pastor Mark also
8shows us the proper attitude and heart to have while giving financially to
9the LORD. We are not to parade our giving and boast in our generosity,
10but we are to do it in secret...knowing our reward will be in Heaven.
