  • Lessons Learned Soul Tribe-Codependency

Welcome to Lessons Learned Soul Tribe. Today, we're going to talk about Codependency.  This comes from childhood dynamics and childhood dysfunction whether you were expected to be an adult too early or you didn't get your needs met as a child, it sets the tone for seeking validation outside of yourself which is really one of the key aspects of  Codependency.  In my life I was expected to be an adult early in my life as well as having other things happen in my life that set the tone for this.  When I was almost 12, I was staying with my grandmother for the summer and my Grandfather had just come home from the hospital where he had pneumonia. He was recovering at home, my grandmother had to go to work and so he had asked me to make him some soup for lunch.  I made it and  I brought it out but because it was too hot, I set it on the table and then a few minutes later I went to go check on him to see if he was OK and he had died and I was the only one there with him.  This situation really set the tone for me in with this desire to fix the world because I had let my Grandfather down. I had taken the blame for what happened with my grandfather. It also led to the dynamics in relationships with me giving away my power! The moment I fell in love with somebody somehow, they had all power and I had none.  It led to a lot of toxic types of relationships and drew a lot of negative situations because I didn't understand them dynamics behind these situations. Also, as a parent I gave a lot and I would get angry if I didn't get the respect, I had this righteous kind of anger  because I didn't get a thank you and  I’m feeling here I am I'm giving away everything but I'm getting nothing turn in my eyes! So really take a look at the dynamics of codependency because it is something for everyone will evaluate in their lives. If you feel like you codependent you have to take your power back. You have to heal your 2nd ,3rd and 4th chakras and step back into power! If  you'd like to reach out to me, please contact me at [email protected].

  • Lessons Learned Soul Tribe-As You Grow Things Will Go

Welcome to Lessons Learned Soul Tribe. Today, we're going to talk about as you grow things will go. I'm not saying this to worry or concern you, but I have to be honest and I have to tell you how this is going to go. You're going to go along on your healing journey and either you are going to inspire those around to actually grow with you or you're going to shine the light so brightly that people are going to go in the opposite direction because they're not of the mindset to heal or even begin all that.  So I just want to prepare you for that because it's very interesting and sometimes you're like what did I do what did I say?  It has nothing to do with that, it has to do with the fact that you are growing, your energy is starting to be brighter and really shine.  So a lot of people will be drawn to that because they want that same  kind of energy that same kind of wonderful peace and all the things that come along with healing in their lives but just like they want to potentially heal there will be others that will be repelled by that light.  It's just like turning on the light on in the room and you start to see everything that you didn’t clear out the corner, you know what I'm saying.  So it's the same way when you're healing sometimes, when you shine your light people are like I’m out, I’m not feeling this.  I just want to prepare you for that part of the journey because you will start to see the higher you go, the more things that will go because they're not in line with your energy.  This is all part of the journey along with setting boundaries and all of the other things we talked about. You can inspire people to change so don't be fearful of the journey or of people leaving your life, they could turn around later and want to come back to you and want that same healing or they could leave for a temporary time just because they're not ready at that time when you're healing.  You can’t heal for anybody else and if somebody else doesn’t want to get on the train and ride the train, then that's their prerogative because we can't force change on anyone.  So just remember that this is part of your journey, the more you grow the more will go!  If  you'd like to reach out to me, please contact me at [email protected].

  • Lessons Learned Soul Tribe-Law of Attraction

Welcome to Lessons Learned Soul Tribe. Today, we're going to talk about Law of Attraction. Before I began my journey, I think the most that I understood about any of that kind of stuff is Karma.  Basically,  if you treat people right that comes back to you and if you don’t treat people right that comes back to you, as well.  With the Law of Attraction, I thought whatever you put out there that’s what you get it back.  Well, that is true but I want to go a little bit deeper with that.  So say for instance you want abundance and you put that desire out there but you really don't believe it from a deep core belief, maybe you have a spirit of lack or a spirit of unworthiness and so you tie a negative emotion to that.  Instead of drawing the abundance that you know your conscious side put out there as a as a desire, the subconscious belief that you don't deserve it will actually be what is drawn to you.  So if you want those things in your life such as abundance or anything else that you want, you have to heal that deep-seeded negative belief so that when you put your desires out there, they are aligned with the positive belief that you deserve it.  You lay a foundation of receiving the things that you put out there as your desires because you have laid  that solid foundation and place for that blessing to come to you.  Now, in realizing that you have negative beliefs, you heal them and let go of that negativity and lay that foundation to receive the things you are asking for.  If you haven't healed things, you are sort of like that fish that is swimming upstream because you're going against the flow of the very thing that you're asking for.  So you want to take a look at your desires and why you might not receiving  them.  Are you actually in alignment with the desire or do you have some core belief that is repelling the desire or actually bringing to you the things that you believe in your heart of hearts about something?  Take a look at what you desire, make sure that you're in alignment to receive it by tying those positive emotions to it.  Make sure that you're visualizing the desire and all of the wonderful feelings that you are going to have when you receive that thing and then let it go and believe.  Don't worry about it, just let it go and wait for the blessing and the surprise when you receive it!  If  you'd like to reach out to me, please contact me at [email protected].

  • Lessons Learned Soul Tribe-People Pleasing

Welcome to Lessons Learned Soul Tribe. Today, we're going to talk about people pleasing. I don't know about you but I grew up in a time where you were expected to pretty much do what you were told and that really laid a solid foundation of people pleasing.  I didn't know how to say,  “No.”  So as I began this journey and I started to really look out why I was doing things, I started discovering that I'm not really doing things because I wanted to but I'm doing them because I feel like that's what I need to do to keep everybody else happy.  In all reality, making myself overwhelmed and overburdened and I had to put an end to that.  So I had to really start taking a look at what was my motivation for doing things. Why was I feeling the need to please everybody?  It really came down to I needed validation from others to feel worthy.  It goes back to some of the things that I've said in the other sessions about you know really becoming aware and drilling down being the detective in your own life to discover and get to the root of things so that you can address them.  I started saying, “ No,” because I had learned that people pleasing really wasn't getting what I desired. The genuineness that I sought from others wasn't coming from the right place, it was coming from I want you to feel beholden or you owe me something and that's not who I am or why I want to do things. So now I've begun to stand strong and say no if it's not what I want to do then I don’t. So Just planting a seed for you to think about the people pleasing you do and why. I hope this encourages on your journey to learn that you can say No  and that there is nothing wrong with that. In fact it’s becoming stronger and taking care of you and meeting your own needs. Remember, before you can meet anyone else’s needs you have to meet your own or you are going to be too overwhelmed and burnt out to help anyone.

  • Lessons Learned Soul Tribe- Healing Generational Curses

Welcome to Lessons Learned Soul Tribe. Today, we're going to talk about why you would even go on a journey self-discovery and healing. I know I began mine as a way of getting back to who I really wanted to be, but the larger reason is I've always wanted to be the type of person broke the chains of that were around situations. You might have heard of them as generational curses or generational legacies where you know you just have some things in your family that you just felt like those don't belong to you. So as I began my journey and  I started to grow and move through the different steps of the journey, my desires for breaking the chains that held me back became more paramount. I started thinking about my children and what I wanted for them and how I wanted my entire line of ancestors to be proud of what I did with my life. So think about that as you are on your journey to encourage you to keep going forward and never looking back in the aspect of the negativity of things but more so holding on to the bigger picture of why you would do this Journey for yourself and your entire family.  As you continue on this journey be encouraged, stand strong and know what you're doing and taking the steps to heal yourself, the generational curses of your family, the future!

  • Lessons Learned Soul Tribe-Ego Aspects

Welcome to Lessons Learned Soul Tribe. Today, we're going to talk about the Ego in a little bit more depth because I can't overstate the importance of understanding how the ego works and how it was even built.  From the time that you came into this world through your mother’s womb, different aspects of your personality or layers if you will were created through the experiences that we've had. In all of that, all of these different ideals or perceptions of who are were created and shaped. The difficult part about that is overtime, through all of these experiences your true nature was pretty much oppressed for the most part, especially if you been through traumatic situations. So I wanted to talk about that because as you go on your journey, you're going to discover that you're going to be working through these different aspects with these different layers and in doing so it's going be liberating as well as it's  just hard to do sometimes. Because these things have been things that have been placed on you from placed on you from childhood or things that you owned lock stock and barrel because you've got that to your response to be. So you know really facing that and being aware of it and drilling down into the root of it.  I can't stress how important this is. So I ask you to really look at your life again remember what we talked about in in other sessions about being Sherlock Holmes.  Become the detective in your life so that you can start to recognize  these layers, get to the root of them and then also start shedding them. Because what you're going find out as you go further and further on your journey is, they are not who you are, they are an aspect of you that was put on you at one point in time, but they are not the real you. So I encourage you today to begin the journey to really discovering who you are and how wonderful you are! Whether there is light or dark in the discovery, in the end love and light will always win!

  • Lessons Learned Soul Tribe- Forgiveness

Welcome to Lessons Learned Soul Tribe.  Today, we're going to talk about Forgiveness.  I can't tell you how hard this topic is to talk about because with forgiveness a lot of people think that you know I forgave you and so that's the end of it, but it's really not because forgiveness is as they say all about you.  What a lot of people don't understand is when you are walking and forgiveness, not only do you forgive the person who did whatever they did to you but you have to forgive yourself for allowing it to happen.  Now, there are circumstances where it's very difficult to do that especially when it's around something where you were a child and you had no control over the situation whatsoever and someone did something to you, whether that's physical mental or sexual abuse and those scars run deep and the pain associated with him runs deep as well.  Forgiving a person who did something to you in that capacity is a very difficult thing to do but it is necessary for you to heal.  Also, part of that is forgiving yourself because you have to understand you were not the person who did anything, you were innocent.  So you have nothing to forgive yourself for in those instances.  Try to have the compassion necessary to be able to forgive even in those painful times in that traumatic situation where you had no control and somebody did something so heinous to you because forgiveness is necessary.  That is the key to letting go of something that will hold on to you for as long as you don't forgive it.  I encourage you today to think about the areas in your life where forgiveness needs to reign.  First forgive yourself, stop blaming yourself for things you have no control over and then forgive those who may have done those things to you that just broke her heart.  Remember, forgiveness is really about you.  Let's forgive today!

  • Lessons Learned Soul Tribe-Motives

Welcome to Lessons Learned Soul Tribe. Today, we're going to talk about motives. Do you ever really sit down and think about why you do things? Is it because you're trying to people please or you're trying to be accepted so much that you're willing to turn yourself inside out to do  it?  Is it because you have fear, or you don't feel worthy? These are all the different things that we need to heal from in order that we can walk in our authentic truth as we really want to be but getting to the root of this is not easy.  You may find that you're doing things for the wrong reason.  Are you the victim who doesn't know how to take accountability for their actions but wants to point the finger outward?  Remember,  when you point your finger outward towards someone else, you're actually pointing four more back at you.  When you feel abandoned because of the trauma you've been through in your life you may hold on to things that you should  let go of out of fear of loss fear or abandonment.  When you walk in anger, you have to get to the bottom of that anger and find out where it comes from. Sometimes it comes from loss of control because you were in a situation where you felt hopeless where you had no control over what happened to you, so that anger becomes deep-seeded and that has to be dug  up just as in every other case that I mentioned.  You’ve got to do the work around it, to heal it, but first you have to recognize it and you have to be brave and take courage in getting to the root of the issue.  We all want to heal and walk in our truth and  I want to help you to do that.  In doing that, we have to be honest and we have to be accountable because while we think people do things to us it's only because we allowed them to, we must be accountable for our actions in all things!

  • Lessons Learned Soul Tribe- Commitment to Yourself
Welcome to Lessons Learned Soul Tribe.  Today, we're going to talk about commitment.  We commit to everyone else but really don't commit to ourselves and you can tell that by the fact that you expend so much energy on so many other people but really don't usually take the time to do that for yourself.  I really want you to go ahead and take a look at that and determine why.  Why aren't you important enough to expend you that energy on yourself?  I encourage you today to be selfish a little bit and take care of you. In all the essence you really can't take care of others if you haven't taken care of yourself first.  So today I encourage you to be selfish, to love yourself and to give that same commitment to yourself that you would give to everybody else.  A lot of times we expend so much energy  on carrying the world, carrying everyone, now it's time to expend that energy on yourself.  To love yourself enough to make what you see as important your priority.  And,  and in that, you'll find out that you are your priority and there's nothing wrong with that!  Just a quick message to talk about the commitment that you need to have to yourself!

  • Lessons Learned Soul Tribe-Projection

Welcome to Lessons Learned Soul Tribe. Today, we're going to talk about projection.  So projection normally occurs when you are triggered and you're not aware that you're triggered.  You're in a situation where somebody triggers you and then you turn around and project all of the feelings that are coming up on to that other person.  A lot of times these triggers are pretty intense and they are again tied back to traumatic situations where your ego has put  in defense mechanisms due to particular situation or a particular feeling and then all of a sudden; you're just in it and everything is coming out your mouth.  You’re not even really aware of it until you see that person's face- that’s your telltale sign. When the ego kicks in in such a strong way that you're projecting these emotions on to another person, it's because these emotions are pretty intense for you and you may not even know how to deal with them, so that's where the projection comes from. These could be feelings of guilt, shame, betrayal, abandonment, not feeling safe, they could be feeling like you need to control things, being right all the time. There are so many different things that the ego will bring up for you when you get triggered.  All you can do when this happens is you use your awareness and try to stop yourself in the track of doing it. The more you practice the awareness, the more you practice understanding where things are coming from, the easier it will become to actually look through these things and begin to heal them.  So I encourage you when this happens to be kind to yourself.   Also, when you have these thoughts, these feelings recognize them and be like, “Okay I see you,  I know you,  I got you.”  Tell yourself, “I understand where this is coming from,” but then stop yourself and just really work through those feelings.  Find out why and drill down like I talked about in other episodes.  Drill down, be the detective, keep asking yourself why until you get to the root of it.  You can do this this! This is your journey to get back to your authentic self, this is your journey to empower yourself!   It's not going to be easy but I'm here with you.

If you'd like to reach out to me, you can reach me at [email protected].  I'd love to hear from you.  Much Love and Light, Lady T!
