Lesson 204: Finish Your First Draft

No one ever shares that first draft. Well, maybe some people do but that's a rare occurrence. When you want to do something, when an idea is pushing to come out, what you need to do is put it out. That first version is for you to see what the idea really is, what it's trying to be. However, it won't come out if you don't take responsibility and finish that first draft. However, you should know that the first draft is only the beginning and you have some more work to do.

Lesson 203: Focus On The Solution

When shit hits the fan, we might be tempted to wallow in self-pity. I understand it hurts but what will help is focusing on the solution. Right now, I'm in shit yes but what can I do to get out of it? Who can I reach out to? What skills do I have that I can use in this situation? Focusing on the solution has a way of bringing positivity while focusing on the problem only compounds the problem.

Lesson 202: Ignore The Hype

Whatever is trending in your world now might not be in the next few weeks or days or hours so don't always jump on the "new thing". Do not fall into the FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) trap. Take time to think things through and make sure it fits your bigger picture before you get on board. Now, if it's something you feel strongly about, jump in hard but still exercise caution. That said, don't let "hype" guide your decisions.

Lesson 201: Live Your Philosophy

We all have things we believe in and live our lives by, or at least say that we live our lives by. The thing that we usually find out is that this isn't always the whole truth or true at all. There are people that show a version of their lives on social media but if you spend time with them, you realise they are different in person. We should always know that our actions define us. We are what we do so if you claim to have a philosophy, let your life, the way you live it prove that you do have that philosophy.

Lesson 200: Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life

The last couple of months have been difficult for everyone but we are still here and even through that difficulties, there are still positives that have happened. I am a glass half full type of person and I always look at the positive in every situation. No, I don't ignore the not so good part, I acknowledge it, yes but I focus more on the good part, the bright side. It is a beautiful way of living and it has made my life a lot better.

Lesson 199: One One Coco Full Basket

To fill your basket you go one fruit at a time. There's no need to rush or try to skip stages because you learn a lot at every stage you are and you need what you learned from the previous stage to navigate the current stage and you need what you learn in the current stage for the next stage. On and on till you get to your goal.

Lesson 198: Plant The Right Seeds

We almost always talk about planting seeds but then rarely ever talk about planting the right seeds. To get the right crop you have to plant the right seed. When you have a goal, a target, start with the things you need to do to get you there. If you want to learn to fly, the right seeds will involve things that will keep you on the track to learning more about aviation. The seeds you plant now will grow into the fruits you'll harvest later so make sure you plant the right ones.

Lesson 197: Find Silly Things That Make You Laugh

Laughter is good for your soul so whenever you can, find things that make you laugh; especially the tiny silly ones. When things go grey, when days are gloom, I find that laughter has a way of warming things up and making the days brighter. We live in a time where we can reach out to our phones and find cute videos that bring smiles to our faces. I love it and I have my go-to videos when I need a laugh.

Lesson 196: Embrace Repetition 

To get better at anything, you have to be willing to put in the work and you have to put in a lot of reps. Repeating an act can get boring and tedious but the more you do it, the better you get at it. Each repetition, you have to be deliberate and learn from the process. Take what you learn and go into the next rep and on and on. It is slow but it is powerful.

Lesson 195: Embrace Music

I love music. It's so powerful. I am almost always listening to music from driving, to writing, to chilling. I learn so much from music and I know that it has the power to calm me down when things are going out of control. I hope you listen to music and you have songs for the different moods you go through. Whatever you might feel, there's a song that can accompany that emotion and that's a beautiful thing.
