Be careful and know what you want. Do not be afraid to voice what you would like to get out of the situation.

I loved this conversation with her and I am glad she joined. Being at a PWI is hard because you may not have the resources you need to access on campus, you may not have enough connections and so much more. So for all my black folks listening get involved in your campus community and for all my white folks listening if you want to be an ally, go to some meetings that are predominately black organizations, educate yourself on something you did not know before. 

Please check on the people close to you in your life and those who you do not always speak to. Sometimes people just need a helping hand and you can be that person. I challenge you to call someone this weekend that you have not spoken to in a month. If you complete this challenge make sure to DM me saying that you did it. 

Moral of this episode is that everyone suffers from complacency right, but how bad do you want to be in a better position? How motivated are you to change your life for the better? If you want better you have to do better, including myself!
