  • Richie Norton: Why Your Nervous System Is the Foundation for Everything

Richie Norton is a health and performance coach specialising in nervous system regulation, a career path that grew directly out of his own experience of burning out and being hospitalised after years of playing professional rugby across the UK, New Zealand, Australia, America and Portugal.

Having rebuilt his body through breathwork, yoga, and movement in his mid-thirties and returned to play rugby at 34, he now works with high-performers to help them do less of the pushing and more of the listening.

In this conversation, Richie talks with Laura about what burnout actually feels like from the inside, why so many people are ignoring the signals their body is sending them, and why nervous system regulation, not the latest nutrition trend is the missing foundation for anyone trying to perform at their best. It's a conversation that challenges the "no time" excuse and reframes rest, breathwork, and time in nature not as luxuries but as the prerequisites for everything else.

He also speaks honestly and with great warmth about the IVF journey he and his partner Nicky went through to have their daughter Maisie: ten rounds, multiple losses, and what it really feels like to be a man going through something you're not supposed to talk about.

  • James Haskell : Why Asking for Help Is Only Half the Story

James Haskell is one of English rugby's most recognisable figures, a World Cup winner with 77 England caps and a career spanning Wasps, Northampton, and international duty. Since retiring from professional sport, he's built a second career as a DJ, podcaster, author, comedian, and motivational speaker, with a reputation for saying exactly what he thinks.

In this episode, James opens up about the mental toolkit he's built over more than two decades of therapy, starting at 17 on the advice of his godfather and how it's helped him navigate the hardest stretch of his personal life: retirement, divorce, his father's death, turning 40, and learning to be a present dad to his young daughter. He talks about ADHD, the difference between diagnosis and action, and why he believes the hardest thing isn't asking for help, it's doing the work every single day after that.
