  • No. 008 - Ode to Joe Kelly

Today, we make sports takes history in the discovery of a take that inexplicably escaped from the multiverse and into our humble plane of existence. We're talking lots and lots of baseball, some soccer, CFB (which now stands for "COVID football'), some Atlanta sports lamentations, plus a retro football video game we should all be playing instead of Madden.

  • No. 007 - The Washington Radskins
In our two week hiatus from posting new installments of LTET, we heard your cries for sports takes and we are back; ready to gingerly spoon them into your mouths, pour them in your ears, or inject them directly into your bloodstream if that's what your doctor has ordered. And if you like your takes to be edgy and controversial (and maybe with that delayed spiciness that hits you in the back of your throat), you're in good luck.
We'll be talking about all things COVID-19 related in sports, the Braves (not) signing former generational player Yasiel Puig, some light commiseration over the recent performance of Atlanta United, Cam Newton's dabbling in ancient texts, a good take from Skip Bayless (!!!), Tommy Tuberville's race to become Senator Click-Clack, and a unifying take about the state of Florida (that comes to us from the very good people of Florida). Also, we'll talk about a lawyer in Virginia who's about to be made filthy rich from the extreme makeover of the NFL team that plays in Washington, D.C.
We'll post links to the stories we discussed on our social media. We're on Facebook and Instagram at @letthemeattakes and on Twitter @eattakespod

  • No. 006 - Babushka Cam Newton
First off, that was a noose in the Talladega garage. Secondly, we're giddy about all the winter apparel Cam Newton will wear now that he is in an appropriate climate to do so. The MLB is coming back, so that's nice (and if you think the rule changes are bad, well, you're wrong). Other topics of interest this week are:
    Ryan Anderson apparently wants CTE.
Colin Cowherd's dubious assessments of "arm" and "talent."
A take from Jason Whitlock that's actually not bad.
USA Today contributor (and part-time Twitter inquisitioner) Dan Wolken finally exhausts his penchant for outrage and dismisses the theory that coaches are deliberately exposing their players to COVID-19 as "a bridge too far."
Some words of patriotic optimism from Dabo Swinney.
Electronic referee whistles, which inevitably spawn a conversation on the Terminator film series.
A formal request for Wes Blankenship to become the unofficial mascot for Let Them Eat Takes.

  • No. 005 - Mike Gundy's Deepfake Apology Video (You Heard it Here First!)
Another week, another hour of three passionate sports fans figuring out they don't know as much about sports as they previously thought. Will that stop us from making broad, authoritative statements? Not a chance. On the docket for this entry is Mike Gundy's teleprompter/bodysnatcher apology, an argument for Barry Bonds' induction to the Hall of Fame (and a weird proposal for re-injecting steroids into Major League Baseball), more wisdom from the mouth of the righteous Cardinal Dan Wolken, plus some other college football stuff. We'll also look at @nflmeme's brilliant yet terrifying amalgamation of what would be the NFL's worst possible quarterback; can you imagine a monstrosity more hideous?

  • No. 004 - Roll Tide Roll! (Test 'Bama Test)
This week we give an update on college football's war on COVID-19, spend the bare minimum of time required to talk about the MLB feud, talk Drew Brees' excellent pocket awareness (and how it hasn't translated to actual awareness), and we introduce an exciting new segment to our show. Other topics: Kentucky Cheerleading's scandalous basket toss-gate, a guy running for senate in Alabama who is using football metaphors to debate his opponent (who used to coach at Auburn), and a curling video game you can play on your PC.

  • No. 003 - A Hasty Take Smorgasbord (05/28)
This week, we take some creative liberties with the word "hasty" and go on an unchecked spree of sports bloviation.... so yeah, the usual. Following up with NFL Head Coach 2006, Scott shares some insights from his virtual life as the Atlanta Scorpion Lollipop's newest head coach. We touch on some soccer, some golf, some bad takes from the usual suspects, a crazy hockey video game that may or may not include playable shrimp people, some SEC football (hitting on the transfer of J.T. Daniels to UGA) and, of course, the biggest question on everyone's mind: what's the weirdest food from every state?

  • No. 002 - Urnge Volhalla (05/26)
Scott, Jonathan and Justin talk pants in golf, inflatable fans, and a lot of college football. Is Tennessee really back? We'll answer that question and much more. Also, Scott shares with us the ground-breaking sports video game you've probably never heard of.
