In this episode, we talk with Sue Grumbir of Hands Across Decatur, a non-profit organization that helps those who are homeless or near homeless become self-sufficient again. Listen in to hear Sue’s heart and passion for those who are down and how the community can come together to help lift others up. Homelessness is a real problem. However, there is hope when everyone becomes involved to be the “hands, feet, and heart.”

Do you enjoy singing? Has it been since high school since you last sang in a “real” choir?

The Decatur Civic Chorus is a community choir that encompasses the whole North Alabama area – not just Decatur. Listen to this episode as we talk with Wanda Thompson, choir director extraordinaire. She talks not only about DCC, but also the benefits and community building aspects of being a part of a chorus.

If you’re not into singing yourself, but love to hear great music, come and listen to the chorus live. This year’s performances are Thursday, Nov. 15 at 7 pm at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Decatur and Sunday, Nov. 18 at 2 pm at East Highland Baptist Church in Hartselle.

Fall is an iconic time of pumpkin patches, hayrides, and the country scene. Gullion Farms is a true working farm that has graciously opened its “doors” to the public. Listen in as we talk with Steve and Tammy Gullion about their love for creating a welcoming and inviting farm experience for all.

Not only have they opened their farm to the public, they’ve also crafted a unique experience for school-aged children. Throughout the fall, classes from all over come down to the farm to learn about the animals, gather eggs, and even milk a cow.

The Huntsville Ballet Company and School is a professional ballet company whose mission is to inspire and promote art and culture in North Alabama. Heading this magnificent gem is Kimberly Wilson and Jessica Cotton, two teachers who’ve put their heart and soul into creating a place for people to come together and unite in having fun.
