Quitting drinking didn't happen overnight. It took years of back and forth and debating if I really needed to quit, before I decided to. I was in a weird limbo because I didn't feel like I needed AA, but I didn't feel okay either. I was depressed and tired of feeling like shit. At the same time, there were things I really liked about drinking. This episode contains some very serious topics and there is a warning at the beginning of the episode. This is not everyone's experience with alcohol and every person has their own unique situation. If AA or some other way to quitting alcohol worked for you, I am proud of you, that just isn't what worked for me. If you are in a place where you need to detox before you can quit, your story is just as important as my story. Please be careful with yourselves and seek medical help if you need it.
