My guest this week is Patrick Collins a writer and retired educator who has taught in various communities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. He resides in Harbour Grace, NL, where he typically starts his writing day in the early morning.
His eleventh and most recent work, The Body on the Beach, is a novel inspired by the true events surrounding a woman, Alice Williams, who died under mysterious and suspicious circumstances. The cause of her death has never been revealed. This book has been published by Flanker Press.
Love is in the air and this week on Let’s Get Writing, I welcome Claire Wilkshire.
We dive into her most recent book, The Love Olympics, a jubilant, funny and real collection of short fiction set in St. John’s, NL. All about the various forms of love — the way love grips us, shakes us, releases or envelops us — these smart, witty, funny, warm and surprising stories will send Cupid’s arrow right into your heart!
In this episode I welcome Charlene Carr who has independently published nine novels, and her first agented novel, Hold My Girl, has sold to HarperCollins Canada, Welbeck Publishing (UK), Alma Littera (Lithuania) and is set for adaptation to TV by Blink Studios in partnership with Groundswell Productions.
Today my guest On Let’s Get Writing is Amanda Dorothy Jean Bulman, the author of Salt Beef Buckets A Love Story. This book includes recipes and essays exploring the stories and culinary traditions of Newfoundland. Andie is a chef, writer, comedian and librarian and her stories and recipes will whet your palate for more!
