    A re you curious on how you combine a passion for nutrition, athletics and Esports? If I’ve piqued your interest then you may want to stick around for my conversation with Casey Thomas.

    Casey spent five years working in clinical research before deciding to return to school to become a registered dietitian. He spearheaded the development of a sports nutrition program on campus and completed a thesis project examining cognitive supplements in elite Esports athletes. He is a published scientific author who regularly engages as an expert peer reviewer and has been featured in media outlets for interviews about his nutrition strategies. Casey currently works as a performance dietitian, writer, and instructor. His unique research background has allowed him to implement protocols that have facilitated significant improvements in body composition, health, and performance among athletes – assisting several teams to championship victories at the D1 collegiate level. He has similarly enjoyed consulting for professional athletes and Olympians, Esports programs, universities, and businesses looking to gain a performance edge. Casey is currently focusing his efforts on Esports, where he is working to bring high-level, research-backed performance nutrition to the gaming world. He joined me this week to tell me more.

    Using a radical pragmatic lens, Dr. Andrew M. Colombo-Dougovito uses his expertise in mixed methodology to employ both qualitative and quantitative methods to examine the motor development patterns and physical activity behaviors of autistic individuals across their lifespan. Within this work, he explores the societal and environmental structures that influence physical activity engagement and skill development to ensure equal opportunities are provided to autistic individuals and their families. Presently, Andrew is an Assistant Professor at the University of North Texas. There he also acts as the Director of the Physical Activity & Motor Skills Program, the Director of the Disability & Movement Research lab, and a faculty liaison to the Kristin Farmer Autism Center.   • How Legitimate is a $15 an hour Federal Minimum Wage? Hoyt Bleakley

    President Joe Biden remains staunchly committed to pursuing a $15 an hour federal minimum wage. No matter how long the fight drags on in congress. And no matter how heavy the opposition he faces is.


    "No one should work 40 hours a week and live-in poverty," Biden said. "But it's totally legitimate for small business owners to be concerned." One recent study by the National Bureau of Economic Research concluded that 80% of economic research over the last 30 years had found job losses associated with a higher minimum wage. The evidence of a negative impact is stronger for teens and young adults, as well as the less educated. Since 2009, the federal minimum wage has been $7.25 an hour, though 29 states and Washington D.C. have higher minimum wages, as do some cities and counties, according to PolitiFact.
    Among the general public, the $15 minimum wage is popular, although business groups and their allies among lawmakers argue that they would cause job losses
    So, what should we make of the “Fight for $15?” Hoyt Bleakley is a Professor of Economics at the University of Michigan and he joined me this week to provide some prospective on the subject.

    Lindsay Duncan has always had a passion for the performing arts and dance

    Lindsay started as a tv/film actor and dancer and continues to work today in various radio and voice jobs.
    In 2017 Lindsay's side hustle of teaching dance became increasingly more important as she grew tired of the typical dance studio experience (which has traditionally included closed-door price negotiations, secretive training with no way for parents to watch kids in class, stuffy, ugly, stale waiting rooms with no coffee (!?!) , zero access to online registration, outrageously expensive costumes, payments or any technology and unreasonably long commitment requirements of 9 months or longer)
    More concerning than all of that was the ongoing perpetuation of gender stereotypes that just didn't seem to be going away.
    She, along with her business partner decided something needed to change.
    By applying the simple concepts of service-based industry and combining them with real-life, high-quality dance training, Lindsay created "The School". A beautiful space where families can experience the arts together. She joined me this week to tell me more.
