  • Regaining Public Trust with: John Collins

Businesses and CEOs have a pivotal new role to play in rebuilding public trust in information and bridging the United States' growing partisan divide. According to the latest Edelman Trust Barometer update, 61% of people surveyed expressed trust in businesses — significantly higher than the number who trusted governments or the media. Trust in governments worldwide dropped to 53%, after seeing an 11-point surge in May during the coronavirus pandemic.  John Collins is on a mission to help organizations, teams and people restore public trust. He’s an executive leadership coach, facilitator, and author based in Southfield, Michigan. He specializes in working with people, teams, and organizations in positions of public trust - clients who impact our quality of life.

John started his private practice in 2013 after retiring his award-winning, 20-year career in forensic science, authoring four books, including his newest work, The New Superior. As a facilitator, John’s range of experience is unmatched, having facilitated highly sensitive domestic and international meetings on behalf of the United States Government.

John’s career highlights include his part in the forensic investigation of the Atlanta serial bombings, which included the bombing of the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta (for which he received a commendation from the Department of the Treasury), as well as his 2013 participation in a historic meeting with Attorney General Eric Holder and other experts to discuss solutions to gun crime following the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

John is the host of the monthly Critical Victories webcast in which he explores the relationship between leadership and public trust through the lens of current events.

John has a master’s degree in Organizational Management and is formally certified as a senior HR professional by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). He is also a Gallup® Certified Strength Coach, utilizing the CliftonStrengths® assessment to help individuals and teams. He joined me this week to tell me more.

  • An International Real Estate Investment Conversation with: Samuel Young

Property transactions have risen by double-digit figures since 2013, in Costa Rica, according to local real estate experts. This is not surprising given booming tourism in the region. In 2018, the total number of tourist arrivals rose by 1.9% year-over-year to a record 3,016,667 people, according to the Costa Rican Tourism Board. Then during the first half of 2019, visitor arrivals increased further by 3.9% year-over-year, to about 1.73 million people, thanks to the continued increase of tourists from North America. You can add Samuel Young to this ever-growing list. He’s an International Real Estate Investor and business owner, currently living and investing in Costa Rica. He just launched a new turnkey program to help investors or relocators buy real estate in Costa Rica without having to travel they’re in person. “My team does all the hard work for them.

I'm originally from Canada and now I travel full time to different countries and learn about the local real estate market. If the numbers make sense I start acquiring my own properties for Airbnb. I've explored the Mexico and US market, and recently acquired an Airbnb in South Florida. Now I'm on the hunt for the next investment property in Costa Rica.”

He relishes the opportunity to teach people all about Costa Rica real estate and share aspects of his intriguing life and business journey.” He joined me this week to tell me more.

  • Dedicated to Helping People Get Their Confidence Back with: John Katsavos

To make a full commitment to improving the quality of your physical and mental health it requires a lifestyle change. To demonstrate your level of sincerity in taking full ownership of your fitness journey. For John Katsavos he’s been a personal trainer for over 15 years now and he’s dedicated to helping people get their confidence back in their lives through exercise, martial arts, and mindset hacks. “ I strive to help people overcome depression and anxiety by getting them in shape and the importance of martial arts by improving their bodies, wealth, relationships with themselves and create a strong spiritual foundation.

I have personal experience with this as when I was in my mid-twenties, I almost jumped off a bridge and I found my saving grace through simple hacks in working out and martial arts.

Ever since then I become a personal trainer I have developed tools to help not only transform bodies but also helping people regain long lost mobility issues ranging from age to past injuries. I have trained the blind, people in wheelchairs, young people with canes, and all sorts of other "issues" all get better. Please understand that this is subjective I couldn't make the blind see, I couldn't get the guy out of the wheelchair - he had spina bifida I helped them become stronger with what they had.

I hope that I can help inspire some young person to get out what ever funk that they might be in through my life story and others that I have helped.” He joined me this week to tell me more.

  • 2022 NBA Finals Aftermath & More with Mark Medina

With his fourth championship secured and 1stfinals MVP under his belt there is no denying the fact Stephen Curry is one of the greatest players of his generation.

“This one hits different for sure, just knowing what the last three years have meant, what it's been like from injuries to changing of the guard in the rosters,” said Curry. “… I can say it now, I don't know how many teams could carry that as long as we have with the expectations of comparing us now to teams of past and make it to the mountaintop again." How should we now view Curry’s legacy?

Meanwhile for the Boston Celtics despite the fact they didn’t win it all they did conquer one of their nemeses by winning the Eastern Conference. However, Boston superstar Jayson Tatum struggled under the big lights of the NBA Finals.

The Celtics reflect on the critical learning point of all.

“It's hard,” said Jayson Tatum, who joined Larry Bird and LeBron James as the only players in NBA history to amass at least 600 points, 150 rebounds, and 125 assists in a single postseason. “It's hard getting to this point. It's even harder getting over it, the hump, and winning it. It's been a long journey, a long process. That's what I took from it: it's tough. You got to take it up another level to do what we want to do.”

And then there is the business of the offseason. The draft, free agency, and the business of getting better for all 30 teams. Which starts this Thursday during the 2022 NBA Draft. To help us make sense of all of it, I enlisted the expertise and  insights of Mark Medina an NBA Reporter for NBA.com and NBATV. Who joined me this week to recap the NBA Finals and look ahead towards a busy offseason.

  • Empowering Entrepreneurs to Master the Inner Game of Success with: Peter Lynch

The one fundamental question you must ask yourself as an entrepreneur is are you confident in the direction of your business? Do you have self-limiting beliefs which stunt your ability for progress? Well, for entrepreneurs between 18-25 they report by a clip of 75% they are confident in the direction of their business. This compared to 53.5% of entrepreneurs between the ages 56-65. This according to intominds a site dedicated to studying the psychology of entrepreneurs. Peter Lynch is a business coach, speaker, and entrepreneur whose passion is to empower others to share their gift with the world. “I've battled suicidal depression as a teenager into my 20's.

I've experienced the dark side of influence used to manipulate and abuse in a cult... and in my family.
I've turned 2 businesses around from failure and built my own to success.
Now I am on a mission to empower entrepreneurs to succeed as true selves.
This goes deeper that mindset, it's about discovering WHO YOU ARE at the core of your being. And aligning everything you do with that.
Alignment brings success naturally... not easily, but naturally.
Most "gurus" are teaching hustle, that you have to DO MORE to succeed...
I teach peace. That you need to simply BE, you already have everything you need within you. It's about unlocking the latent potential.”
He discusses the power of alignment and how it can lead to incredible breakthroughs in business and life.” He joined me this week to tell me more.

After seeing how the ability to talk sports gave her the upper hand as a woman in business, Amy and her brother Scott created Last Night’s Game to give their friends the same advantage. • Awareness Is The Starting Point of Everything in Business with Nick Davies

National Mentoring Day reported 67% of businesses reported an increase in productivity due to mentoring. 55% of businesses felt that mentoring had a positive impact on their PROFITS. Employees who received mentoring were promoted five times more often than those who didn't have mentors. As a super-passionate life performance and business coach, Nick Davies believes to live life to the fullest or even just to start to be happy, we have to put the work in every day. That means committing to gathering support around us, taking in content that supports us, creating rituals that are non-negotiable, having a high standard for delivery and always taking it to the next level!

Davies   shares super actionable insights from his (high value) coaching practice with entrepreneurs and business professionals. He tells a lot of stories and anecdotes about how to sort out your own mental state to get clarity on what needs to happen next, for his clients to achieve the next level of success they are after.

“My clients are typically already very successful, high-achiever types. When they want to improve, it is about improving maybe by 0.1%, but this small improvement will have a massive impact, since they are already to so far up on the success ladder.

Figuring out how to do this, is my specialty as a life-performance and business coach.” He joined me this week to tell me more.
