Olympic Gold Medalist Erin McLeod plays for the Orlando Pride in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and the Canadian National Team, which won the gold this summer in Japan. However, the medal comes late in Erin’s career, and after some struggles with injuries, bad coaches and a family move in her teens from Canada to Indonesia that nearly derailed her whole plan, she sees the gold as an accomplish but not a reflection or validation of her and who she has become. One note – this was recorded before a prominent coach in the NWSL was fired for abusive and predatory behavior. Please learn more about what is happening in the NWSL and support the players who are fighting for a safe work place.
