In this episode, Sarah and MJ discuss the aftermath of the shark's final attack before the adventure on The Orca begins. They talk about Brody's excellent parkour skills, the very American solution presented about how to deal with the shark, Michael Brody's trauma helping Martin realize that he must confront his biggest fear, and offers an idea about how to make the film even better.

They discuss the exploitation influence on the montage, the brutal depths at which humanity will go to in the name of self-preservation, and ruminate on what social media apps the shark would use to become a #finfluencer.

This week, Sarah and MJ are joined by Chandru Ravindran to discuss a fully loaded scene full of tension, timeless cinematic techniques, a potential return of the shark suffering from decision anxiety, and a throwaway line that reveals a lot about Bad Hat Harry.

They discuss the visual and auditory storytelling in the scene, what exactly, Mayor Vaughn mouths to himself (as well as what the look on his face) at the beginning of the scene, and JAWS' unique place at the rough midpoint of cinema history.

They discuss the excellent production design of the scene and its ubiquitous use of yellow and umbrellas that look like shark fins as well as Peter Benchley's wonderful cameo as the most 1970's reporter on celluloid this side of Anchorman
