This week, Sarah and MJ get a lay of the land in the town of Amity as Brody rushes from the police station to the hardware store. The comparisons to the ongoing pandemic continue, and they dig up a few personal stories that show just how grounded in everyday life JAWS is. Also, this scene marks the first of two cameos from the genius behind the camera himself, Steven Spielberg!

This week, Sarah and MJ are joined by fellow film critic Dan Barnes to talk about the aftermath of Chrissie's body being found on the beach. They also get their first introduction to the inhabitants of Amity Island and all their first world problems. Also, the shark cuffs are back (obviously)!

NOTE: MJ didn't check his settings for recording thoroughly and ended up recording this episode using his on board microphone on his laptop. As such, the audio sync is off and it sounds like he interrupts people kind of a lot. It also sounds like he's broadcasting from the wreckage of Ben Gardner's boat. Neither of these things was intentional.

This week, Sarah and MJ follow Brody's departure from his home to a fateful encounter with a corpse on the beaches of Amity. They have a revelation about the recurrence of the color yellow, discuss what it's like for Brody to feel "in his element" with an investigation again and over analyze the famous billboard for the annual Amity Regatta race. Also, MJ has a chip on his shoulder about being called Michael Jordan and Michael Jackson and Sarah nearly derails the podcast thinking about the logistics of how to properly arrest a shark.

This week, Sarah and MJ guide you through our first encounter with the everyman hero of the film, Chief Martin Brody. They talk about how the script expertly sets up his backstory and the sense of foreboding that comes along with the audience having prior knowledge about what's in store for his work day. Also, they find a lot of significance surrounding Michael Brody's injury and discover that the broken swingset is a metaphor for things to come!

This week, Sarah and MJ are joined by the wonderful Tom Martyn (@TheWellDrinker) to talk about the untimely demise of Chrissy Watkins. They discuss the film's balance of the tranquil and the primal, the importance of the "first kill," Steven Spielberg's dark side, and Tom brings us this week's mind blowing revelation.
