This episode was inspired by my daughter. At 6 years old everyday she is learning more and more about the concept of change. We discuss how change is a part of life at least 3-4 times a week. That's when it hit me! From young we are introduced to change yet no matter our age change never gets old. It's always new, it's always different, and even though it has greeted us a thousand times we never truly get to know it. As quickly as it comes as quickly as it goes. Change arrives without a Hi and it leaves without saying Goodbye. Which is why even the slightest change in our routine instantly makes us frown. Change is unique because it never happens exactly the same twice. My advice to Aliyah and to everyone else that listens is, change is a part of life just as much as oxygen is. In this episode I’ll be reciting a handful of poems all centered around change. Changes that occurred in my life that I couldn’t help but write down.
This episode is strictly for the Goal Seekers, the Grinders, and the Dreamers. As you know the grind to success can be tiring, it can be draining, it can be exhausting which at times makes us question how much farther can we go before we throw in the towel and let our goals and dreams rot away. Today I’ll be sharing a few tips that will help you keep running your race until you cross the finish line.

So I’m asking you, who do you have in your corner? Because whoever it is they are The Real MVP.

In this episode we discussed the roots of African American cuisine and how influential it has been across the nation from southern cooking in the Deep South, to the oyster craze up top in New York City, all the way to Barbecue in East Texas. Our culinary skills can not be denied! The proof is in the pudding during the worst of times we did the best we could with what we had. We named our cuisine soul food because food was our connection between love and God. As much as they try to marginalize or mock our cooking it's the very same cooking that many presidents couldn’t get enough of. Tune in to hear all about it!
