  • Ponderlings: The Palm Tree

Most palm trees grow in the tropical and subtropical regions of the world. Due to this fact, the palm tree is made to bend to the whims of unpredictable weather. Hmmm, that sounds a lot like the human experience to me. Let's get meta! #MayWeBendButNotBreak

  • The Amercian Dream, Or Is It?

Sometimes the universe forces us to choose between who the world tells us we are supposed be and who we know we are supposed to be. When you get to this precipce in life, I believe this is the place where things really start to get fun! I met Jennifer Paz over 15 years ago on the North American tour of Miss Saigon. Since then, there have been many twists and turns that have gratefully allowed us to cross paths. As POC citizens of America, Jen and I align on the power and need for equalization. For both of us, this journey came to light with our dissatisfaction with the performing arts community and the blatant favoritism that saturates its broken systems. Whether because of color or sex, it is quite clear that the structure of the performing arts community needs a drastic shift and we are both here to talk about it. From being "blacklisted" to her fight with Alopecia to originating the role of Lapis Lazuli on the inclusive cartoon Steven Universe, Jen is here to use her voice to empower. Wanna hear more? Press play. Mmk? Mmk! Gday.

  • Ponderlings: The What Whatsez

As humans, we spend a lot wasted time focusing on what could have been or what should have been. 2020 was a huge reminder that at any moment plans can AND will be derailed. Guess what? You are not in charge. Today I touch upon the idea of working to throw off expectation in order to be where you are NOW. Hey Ram Dass! I've learned that when you work from what IS, you empower yourself to move forward in daily awe of what comes next. As my grandmother used to say, "it's just a journey", and I trust her words. She was fierce. #LiveWhereYouLive

  • The Greatest Show with Keala Settle

Sometimes the greatest show is the one that we put on for ourselves and those around us. The stories we tell to get through this journey we call life. Well I've discovered that one of the best parts about life is learning that we don't need to do that. Join me today as I chat with my old friend Keala Settle, whom I have deemed, "the lady with the golden throat"(PS. She hates it lol). We all know her as the soulful Broadway power beltress & "This is Me" anthem singer, but behind every show curtain there is often a story untold. You'll have to tune in to learn more. Come on in. Mmk? Mmk! Gday.

  • Paging Dr. Rico

When the pandemic hit, we were forced to retreat into our safest spaces & away from each other. Problem is (among many), humans desire connection. What was the first thing we went to? Our most welcomed security blanket, social media. For me, social media has become a great place to meet & make new friends based on mutual ideals & values. That is what brought me closer to my next guest, Charles Rico. Funny enough, we met one week before lockdown as he was jamming needles into my body. Relax he's an acupuncturist. Through the power of social media we became superhero buddies. Come on in & hear about this doctor's journey to healing to world from the inside out. Mmk? Mmk! Gday. Oh, & HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2021, COME ON DOOOOWN!

  • Ponderlings: A Christmas Story

Happy Holidays y'all! I hope everyone's days have been filled with as much joy, gratitude & love as humanly possible in this insane time. Hope seems to be on the way. We have a vaccine, we have a new administration & CHANGE is finally on the horizon. Maybe your holidays aren't happy this year. Maybe you lost a loved one, your job, your home. This is reality. If you are having a hard time finding joy in the present holiday season, remember you can always feel free to pull from your toolbox of memories. Today I reflect on one of my favorite holiday memories. #GoIntoTheArchives

  • The Renaissance People. Jack of All Trades. Master of Most.

Friends, today I would like to introduce you to one of the kindest & most talented humans I know. She is a bright light to this planet & just as dedicated to saving it. Erica Lynn Sweany quickly become a staple in my life, although when we first met, apparently I wasn't quite so friendly lol. You'll have to listen to see why. Erica is the kind of human who isn't afraid to challenge & who isn't afraid to try. Join us & hear why I have deemed her a "Renaissance woman". From acting on Broadway, to adamantly composting in her backyard, to teaching herself how to code; there is no mountain Erica isn't willing to climb with as much precision as possible. She's helped me hold onto the idea that we do NOT have to pick one thing. We can attempt to master many. She's also the catalyst that got me to move back to NYC & she's not afraid to challenge my strong ass opinions with the utmost kindness. THAT is a rare find & SHE is a rare friend! I've learned so many things from this angel on Earth & I'm happy to introduce her to YOU. Oh & its her birthday this week!! Welcome to the 40 club ma'am! Come on in y'all. Mmk? Mmk! Gday.

I have been watching a lot of TV during this quarentine lockdown and I have some feedback for you Netflix & Hulu. #DontRushMe

  • B+ Plus Moming

Parenting in a pandemic is hard as hell. No matter how old your child is, this is probably a fact. I don't have kids, but it sounds kind of like a nightmare for some people. If that's you, I send you a special blessing. Guess what? Sometimes you're not going to get an A as a parent. Your baby might be getting on your nerves. Your child might be talking way too much for your liking. Your teen... well, is a teen. Guess what again? YOU. ARE. HUMAN. AND. THAT'S. OK! Join me as I chat with one of my favorite new moms & host of the new podcast series "B+ Moms", Andrea Benegas. Hear what it's like giving birth in a pandemic; while also testing positive for COVID & having your new baby snatched from your arms while you wait in solitude for doctors to help you with a disease no one really understands. Intriguing? Duh. Come on in. Mmk? Mmk! Gday.
