Let's Talk Church for Pastors and Ministry Leaders

All good things must come to an end...and sometimes that means closing a Christian school that has ministered well in the community for years. Pastor Torrey Jaspers walks us down that road and explains how they knew it was time, how they communicated it to parents, the decision making process within the church, as well as the exciting direction that God has taken their local church body!

As shepherds of the local church, sometimes God puts us in the position to lead our church through a difficult tragedy in the community. Pastor Johnny Pope led his church through relief efforts for both Hurricane Katrina as well as the more recent Houston flooding. In this episode we discuss ways that Pastors can prepare their church to minster to a hurting community.

A 'Discipleship Ministry' misses the true heart of the church...rather we are to be developing a congregation full of 'Disciple Makers' that will lead others along the spiritual path they are walking. Pastor Tim Potter of Grace Church in Mentor OH is doing just that...and doing it well!! This episode helps break the surface of what 'disciple making' looks like.

We are living in the age of litigation! It is more important than ever that churches have followed up on loose ends that in previous generations would have been overlooked...but now can become targets for those that seek to attack the church. In this episode we talk through many of the 88 points on the checklist and also tell you how to download the pdf resource.

Singing was an integral part of OT worship, continues to be a important part of how we approach God as well as how we admonish and edify each other, and there will be singing in heaven! If music is that important, we need to get to the core issue of why music is so important to the local church…we must ask the question… “What are we accomplishing with the music in our church services?” In this episode, Kyle and I talk about church music and how to establish an atmosphere of congregational singing.

In this episode of Let's Talk Church, I talk with Jonathan Washburn about Christian apologetics and why it is needed in local churches. We look at the Biblical mandate for apologetics, the source of apologetic authority, as well as three reasons why every pastor should include apologetics in his toolbox of ministry.

In today’s episode I will be talking with Kip Doan, the Youth Pastor at Faith Baptist Church in Longmont Colorado. We will be discussing why teens leave the church and what we can be doing to draw their hearts closer to Christ.

"I wonder if one of the reasons we are missing the hearts of our teens is because we have churches that are not functioning biblically." -Kip
