In today’s true crime series, Susan Powell was last seen alive on December 6th, 2009. Today, she is presumed dead and her case went cold in May 2013. It is widely believed that her husband, Josh Powell, was involved in her disappearance and his family may also have had some involvement in covering it up. Josh Powell was also the mastermind of the murder-suicide of himself and two sons, Charlie and Braden Powell.  Susan Powell was a victim of domestic violence; her husband, Josh, took complete control of her finances and her overall life during their marriage. Today, Chuck and Judy Cox, Susan’s parents, are fighting in the court system to make sure the United States’ systems of child services ensure to protect children, not just the parents. Many of these government systems focus solely on reunification, not the protection of the child. Chuck and Judy are working to fix that.

What is happening in Bardstown, Kentucky? That's the question you and I will be asking throughout this five part series, Bardstown Mysteries. In Part Four, we discuss the unsolved Netherland Family Murders. Kathy and Samantha Netherland were killed on April 21st, 2014, around 8 PM. 

The motive of their death is still unclear today. It is believed that Samantha Netherland was the target due to the brutality. The only piece of evidence in this case is a black impala, that is also still unidentified.

Jason was the only narcotics police officer in Bardstown at the time, along with his K-9 partner, Figo. As he was on his way home from work, he saw branches in the road off his normal route home on Exit 34. He got out to clear the roads, and then he was ambushed. To this day, his murder is still unsolved.

 Police first ruled his death as a "hunting accident", but Sherry Ballard fought hard to ensure this was not an open and shut case. It seemed pretty obvious to the public that these two cases are connected. 

We also discuss the FBI taking over Crystal Roger's case, and the remains recently found. The update is included in this video. What is happening in Bardstown, Kentucky? That's the question you and I will be asking throughout this five part series, Bardstown Mysteries. In Part One, we talk about the strange disappearance of Crystal Rogers, which police publicly state they believe is a homicide case.

Her boyfriend, Brooks Houck was the last person to see her. They were at the family farm on the night she disappeared, July 3rd, 2015. Many people speculate, including Crystal's mother, Sherry Ballard, that Crystal never left the farm this night.

We'll get a chance to listen to not only Brooks' interrogation, but also his brother, Nick's. Nick Houck was a Bardstown police officer who was ultimately fired for interfering with the investigation of Crystal Roger's, his brother's missing girlfriend.

About a year after Crystal's disappearance, her father, Tommy Ballard was shot. He was described as Crystal's "lead investigator". Did he know too much?

Laci Peterson was last seen on December 24th, 2002 from Modesto, California. She was 8 months pregnant with her unborn son, Conner. Her husband, Scott Peterson, was the first and only suspect in this case. Once Amber Frey, Scott's mistress, spoke to the public, Scott Peterson was guilty by all. After months of searching for Laci and Conner, they were found in the San Francisco Bay. As soon as the bodies were identified, Scott Peterson was arrested with $15,000 cash, his brother's license, and many changes of clothes. He was only 45 minutes from the Mexican border. But did Scott actually do it?

In this podcast, we'll being talking about the disappearance and finding of Laci and Conner, who Amber Frey really is, and the recent speculation if Scott Peterson is really guilty.
