January 2026 will be the 20th anniversary of Let's Talk Dementia. In those years, we have helped thousands of people in their caregiving journey.  The one thing I want caregivers to understand is how important it is NOT to argue with your loved one with dementia.  (Really, arguing with anyone is useless!)

The color of the plate you serve food on will have an impact on how much your loved one with dementia might eat.  If your loved one does not recall their grandchildren's names, ask the grandchildren to call them by their first name.  The person with dementia will not be embarrassed when they do not recognize their grandchildren.  "Hi Frank, it's Suzie.  How are you?"

Dad has always enjoyed singing in the choir, and a new choir is starting.  Should he participate?  What about giving it a try?

Getting good sleep, or "happy sleep," is crucial for the health of your body,  brain, emotions, and sense of well-being.  Here are some tips to help achieve that "happy sleep."  

"You need to find out who has stolen my liverwurst sandwiches! You have nothing else to do, so do it."
