In this episode, we speak with Pawel Guzik who is a future pupil barrister at XXIV Old Buildings, a leading commercial / chancery set of chambers in London. After graduating from King's in 2019, Pawel obtained a Distinction in the MSc Law and Finance degree at the University of Oxford, completed the LLM Bar Vocational Studies degree at City, and was called to the Bar in 2021. Pawel has spent the past two years working as a law lecturer at King's, UCL, LSE, and Queen Mary. In recognition of his teaching excellence, he won the 2021 Excellent Feedback Award in the university-wide King’s Education Awards organised by King’s.
We discuss what studying for Bar course is really like, preparing for pupillage interviews, and how teaching has been pivotal in helping Pawel to develop key skills and qualities which will be essential for a career as a barrister.
