In this episode, we speak with Paula McMullan who graduated from King's with a degree in Law.  Paula trained at Norton Rose Fulbright and was a project finance lawyer until she moved into the people side of the profession, helping law firms to recruit and develop their lawyers. She has been coaching lawyers at all stages in their career for the past 15 years, as well as being the Head of Recruitment at Slaughter and May and the first internal careers coach at Allen & Overy.

Paula describes what law firms expect from prospective trainees during the interview process, and why those expectations exist.  We also discuss imposture syndrome, understanding your career drivers, developing healthy boundaries in the virtual workplace and how effective networking can lead to new opportunities.
