She also has her own podcast, ‘Taboo Topics’ where she speaks about everything from mental health to sex so definitely check that out.

Alice’s favourite quote, “You are so much more than you look” is the epitome of her main message that everyone needs to realise that they are so much more than what they see for their body.

  • From Resilience to Rowing with Ella Greenslade

@ella_greenslade is our very special guest this week on, ‘Let’s Talk The Untalked’. We were super excited to chat with her while she wraps her head around the fact that she is an Olympic medalist in MIQ!! Ella rowed and went to school at St Margaret’s and continued her rowing journey outside of school to reach where she is today. She speaks with us about her Olympic journey, how she used resilience to overcome setbacks and what it means to be a top level athlete. Many messages Ella gives about resilience can be translated into everyday life and speaks importantly how mental health does not discriminate.

Ella’s favourite quote is, “We choose to do these things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept" John .F Kennedy. This sums up her words on how her motivation for challenging days was always wanting to push and be the best version of herself.

We would love to introduce our guest for this week on, ‘Let’s Talk The Untalked’, Jimmy Stewart. He is currently Year 13 at Christchurch Boys High School who loves hanging out with his mates and playing sports. Jimmy opens up to us about his journey with his mental health experiences and how he is constantly raising awareness for the topic of mental health whether it be speaking to his school or as an advocate for the Maia Health Foundation who have continually supported youth mental health. The reason this episode is called, ‘It’s Not Weak to Speak’ is because he highlighted how important it is in taking that big step of speaking up and reaching out for support when you are struggling. Jimmy also discusses with us his experiences, advice for current and future high schoolers and different ways to be a supportive and empathetic friend to others. Jimmy has such an inspiring story which he constantly uses to promote the importance of speaking out.
