Hey Now- October
We are so close to starting the new season on October 5th. I'm thrilled to kick off the fourth season of Let's Talk. Over the years, we've shared countless conversations, but this season, we're adding some exciting elements: live events, guest interviews, and a deeper dive into meditations and coaching techniques.
Reflecting on our journey since October 2020, it's incredible to see how much has changed. Back then, we were hopeful that the pandemic would soon be behind us. Now, we're navigating a new normal that feels anything but settled. As we move into 2024, it's clear that our world has transformed in ways we never anticipated. With overwhelming information and polarized opinions, it's challenging to discern what's true and relevant to our lives.
So, why continue this podcasting journey? For me, it's a powerful way to connect, listen, and nurture community in a noisy world. In an era where so much seems unreal—fake avatars, superficial online interactions—true human connection becomes vital. We heal and uplift each other through authenticity and presence.
Yet, it's easy to feel lost in this fast-paced world, where change is constant and sometimes overwhelming. The reality is, as Mel Robbins famously said, "No one's coming to save you." Each of us must find our strength and accountability. And let's be honest: everyone is struggling in their way.
This season, I invite you to embrace radical honesty with yourself. What do you truly care about? Understanding yourself deeply allows you to take responsibility for your mental health, emotions, and personal growth. Only then can you support others.
Consider this game-changing thought: Instead of believing you're not enough, what if your greatest work is discovering just how capable you are? We all possess unique skills and gifts—blessings meant to enrich the world around us.
Each of us is born with inherent capabilities and abilities. While some may feel cynical about their value, I challenge you to explore the idea that you are a blessing. Your perspective, storytelling, and insights contribute to a richer world.
Picture yourself as a seed. When nurtured, you grow and expand, creating new ideas and possibilities. Too often, we allow hurt, greedy, or fearful people to dominate our landscape. But remember, there are more of us than them!
The key to transformation lies within. Focus on strengthening your mind and body. Nourish your inner light, and share it with your community—family, friends, or pets. When you uplift those around you, you make the world a little brighter, one interaction at a time.
Let's embark on this exploration together. Let's raise our collective vibration, drawing from the seeds of potential within us. The world may be run by fear and hurt, but we can change that narrative.
As we start this new season, I encourage you to breathe deeply, hold that breath, and release it into the world. Let's grow, expand, and embrace the beauty of our shared journey. We can foster a community grounded in authenticity, compassion, and resilience.
So, let's talk. Let's breathe life into our gifts and make a difference—one conversation at a time.

Che spoke to Social Worker and Therapist Rohan Thompson about mental health and Black Folks in Canada. Rohan brings an anti-racism analysis to how he supports racialized individuals and is sought-after because of this focus. They discuss the unspoken pain of marginalized black people made more vulnerable by the pandemic, the definition of white supremacy and male toxicity and creating space for the pain of Black men, including actor Will Smith. Rohan believes that it is not about blame but learning how to give voice to pain, creating space to express suffering, and learning to question what we think is normal.
