Meeting Adas properly for the first time, after a very brief introduction at Networking was an absolute dream - one gorgeous and very talented lady.

We met at Sheffield Park in Sussex on a hot summers day and had so much fun negotiating fields of cows while getting to know all about how she came to be doing what she's doing now and what truly lights her up about working with passionate, ambitious women.

She's a big fan of women by the way and doing things a little differently!

Adas is an amazingly creative brand strategist and photographer, who in the words of one of her clients 'captures the soul' of the person, in her photos. Now that is an art!

In this episode I get to know Louise as we walk on a beautiful warm, sunny spring day -  me in Sussex and Louise on her farm and yes, we get to 'see' the lambs!

We chat about ADHD and how Louise came to realise her diagnosis and has always created strategies around her own work and wellbeing, from having time out to walk in nature (a gamechanger) to curating her social media feeds to keep things quieter and less overwhelming.

Louise works in a deep and wide way with her clients -  covering everything from mindset to practical strategy for pivoting or growing their business. She brings all her qualifications and years of experience to the table and is completely passionate about the work she does.

I found our conversation enlightening (particularly the ADHD stuff) and inspiring too - I know I could learn a lot from her even though I've been in a similar field for a long time.

Christine's journey takes us from becoming a qualified hairdresser quite young, working in top salons, to single parenting, passive income and working to grow a business that earns even when she's on  holiday, alongside everything else.

Also not one to sit around - Christine talked about how she managed lock down and the importance of being positive and taking charge of your own life.

She is a super driven woman but always with people and relationships at the centre - she doesn't climb over people but by helping others is always growing herself too.

Jazz, by her own admission has a lot to talk about when it comes to business. She literally started her entrepreneurial journey as a teenager, teaching her neighbours to play piano for some pocket money and has gone to do many things since, is a self confessed workaholic. She's also had her fair share of challenges along the way and she's still only 27!

Her current business is Pilates instruction and she wants to help all people to be strong and happy with who they are. She's still teaching piano too, which is a real soul passion for her. 

To fulfil her adventurous side and to look after her mental health, Jazz and her little dog have a camper van and take off to the wilds of the UK for big walks and exploration.

Something that wasn't mentioned in the show but in our chat afterwards , is that Jazz was diagnosed as Autistic when quite young and was then homeschooled which had it's own set of challenges to overcome, which she shares during our conversation.

As Lucy and I walk together and explore a cave, appreciate huge trees, take a 'wrong' path and wonder what happens when we get lost, we also dig into how she came to be the creator and editor of her own successful online magazine - Sussex Exclusive

Lucy's career started with Law, then with 3 kids in quick succession moved into business as a Copy Writer, plus being Editor of a French magazine -  when you step back it looks obvious but sometimes when you're up close, it isn't and it took an exploration of her passions - adventure, nature, writing and editing and a prompt from a friend to hatch the idea that has become something of a passion project with ambition.

Life juggling three teenagers where ADHD plays a role, massive dogs, running a business that involves a lot of travel plus challenges and adventuring keeps this lady very busy!

Lucy and I share a love of nature and she sees a daily nature fix, whether it's early morning walks or runs, being up high for big space to breathe or tree hugging - it's one 'self care' (we're not mad on that phrase) activity that as a very busy person, is essential to her wellbeing.

What is it exactly?

There is no 'one size fits all' and looking at what other people are doing - trying to meet, compete or copy someone else's version of success is a recipe for feeling not good enough or like an imposter. 

One thing I do know, success is, and should be different for everyone and that means you get to define exactly what it means - for yourself, your business and life. 

We don't all have the same 24hrs - we have a unique personality, set of circumstances, values, needs and desires that feed into how are 24 hours are spent. And this is where our own version of Success is created from.

I love it when two inherently nosey people come together!

Rachael is usually the one interviewing her clients, to get an in depth understanding of what they're looking for so she can produce spot on copy for their business.

" I help interior designers, architects, builders, kitchen and bathroom designers, furniture makers, restorers, shop owners and individual craftspeople raise their profile.  Appeal to new clients and gain credibility. All through a range of online and printed written content."
 
But today she's at the other end of the mic and she's a little uncomfortable but that's the thing with walking, it eases the nerves and as we fall into step and enjoy our surroundings, the conversation flows.

As often is the case, Rachael came to what she does now, through a slightly circuitous route, born from needing change, a found passion for writing, being 'spotted' and saying YES to opportunity!

We touch on her journey, how having a sounding board and accountability is important, particularly when you have a lot going on and can dive into overwhelm. Also the need for real connection to others and yourself, so carving time out to do things like walking, going to co-working spaces and attending events is all so important too.
