MacLeod is still suffering the effects of the Dark Quickening from last week, and has just landed in France. Instinctually, he heads for the home of his friend, and psychoanalyst Sean Burns. But can Burns help him conquer the darkness inside him before it's too late? Or will Methos have to take his head?

Claudia Jardin is a musical genius. She is also a pre-immortal. She doesn't know it, but MacLeod does. And so does an old friend of his, Walter, who wants to trigger her immortality now, at the peak of her talents. To preserve her gifts. But Duncan doesn't think it's his, or anyone else's choice to make, except for Claudia.

An old flame of Duncan's is in town, and she has caught the eye of Richie. But she is not to be trusted. At least not if Methos has any say. But can he convince Duncan to do what he should have done 350 years ago, and take her head? Or will Mac's sense of chivalry not allow him to kill a woman he's loved?

The University has just procured a 1600 year old bronze statue of the Goddess Kali, but an old acquaintance of MacLeod's, Kamir, feels that it belongs back in India. That it was stolen from his people and he wants it back, by any means necessary.

Duncan and Richie attempt to stop an assassination, which results in a store owners wife being shot. However, Duncan refuses to identify the shooter. Because he wants to take the shooter's head himself. But will his need for vengeance get in the way of actual justice?

Duncan is kidnapped by some thugs and taken to see The Colonel, who turns out to be an immortal with a serious grudge against Mac. Meanwhile, Amanda is trying to get Dawson to talk to MacLeod, while also taking a protégé under her wing

Kenny, the child like immortal who is actually over 800 years old, is back in town. And when he ends up at the loft with Mac, and sees Amanda, well, it's an unexpected moment for Duncan to be sure. But while Amanda might think it's time to have a little "Family" with her, MacLeod, and Kenny, there are some who have other plans

Kit O'Brady has been on a losing streak, for 107 years. A streak that started when Amanda hustled him out of his saloon. Now MacLeod needs to keep them from killing each other. When they end up partners on owning a race horse, it gives him a little time to try and smooth things over.
