“Rise & Grind the System” — by flightlessblrbs
we don't need to wait on gavin newsom or blue state governors to to nut up and redistrict to shut down the next stage of this fascist coup. there’s a third option: move like water around christian nationalists and their gerrymandering. wanna know how? listen in.
“mission impossumble” — by flightlessblrbs
❤️ Special Note: It would make my day if a listener (or twenty) sent this podcast to Mr. Pete Buttigieg, because I’d like to talk to him. He’s made a mistake, and I’d like to offer him the fellowship to return to his integrity.
Some Backstory
A friend of mine recently told me that Pete Buttigieg recently threw trans people under the bus. She’s a white cisgender straight mother, who doesn’t have a trans kid and who lives in a deeply conservative area where Christian nationalists worldviews are the norm. She spoke to me in outrage, asking: “Why do Democrats do this? Why did Pete do this? Doesn’t he understand that we need the biggest tent possible? How is it possible that I’m more inclusive than a member of the LGBTQ mafia?” It’s a good question, and this podcast is more or less my answer to her question.
I hope you’ll give it a listen and, if it impacted you, I hope you share it with your friends directly, via text or email. Help this tiny pod get around the weaponized algorithm.
There’s a way to deescalate bigotry in fascist times, and this is a way to do it.
I think many of us may need practice learning to call out bigotry, because bigotry spreads— it’s the antithesis of neighborliness. It means to sow division and fear, and it always paves the way for fascism. That’s why in world war times you saw all those posters helping people recognize hateful fascist propaganda. Consider this podcast in that tradition.
Folks, this episode is a dramatic reading, with commentary, of This Will Hold’s latest report. I need you to read it and share it with your friends. The one thing about this kind of reporting is that, because the rot runs so deep in our country, reporting on it (even clear reporting) can cause the human brain to melt down with all the rat-fuckery. This is why I decided to do a dramatic reading of their latest post, breaking it down, paragraph by paragraph, so that you can follow along. I also give you concrete ideas about how we’re going to solve it, because this institution is designed to protect itself, and we need more than a class action lawsuit to shut this down.
The main thing to know is that The Christian Nationalist Heritage Foundation and the Federalist Society, alongside an “angel investor,” captured 70% of our electoral infrastructure and intentionally installed malware meant to rig election results. And the independent voting machine checking company? They were also captured by Christian Nationalists, so they just rubber stamped them machines, knowing full well that they had installed malware on them. And the Election Assistance Commission? They’ve also been captured by the Christian Nationalist Heritage Foundation— to the point that its members were sued for breaking election laws. Oh— and they have zero elections security experience. Kinda a neat-o example of how “I don’t do politics” has left us in a ratfucked place where literal terrorists have captured our government because they are fascists to the core.
>
Friends, it occurs to me that many of us have been taught that we were powerless, quite on purpose— because the people in charge need you to be docile. I share a personal story about how power has worked on me as an entry point to illuminate the confidence game that is white supremacy.
Why am sharing this? Because fascists are conning you, right now, into thinking we are trapped in this game with them. We are not.
They want you to think our options are limited, that we’re trapped into cowering and letting them disappear and oppress us or we can take up arms and be annihilated. Those are not our only options. There’s a better one.
Also, the institutions they’re destroying right now? Yeah, it’s absolutely catastrophic, in many ways. People have already died, and they will continue to die until we stop these guys. But you also need to hold onto the fact that these Christian nationalists and techno-fascists are wrecking a generation system of power that white supremacy not only built but also rigged to keep us yoked to their b******t.
We don’t have to be yoked to their b******t, folks.
There’s another way out of this. It’s not as arduous as you think, and it doesn’t require firing a single shot. If you feel trapped by these abusers’ nonsense, caught in their ideological dragnet: listen in, neighbor.
And if this meant something to you, I would consider it an honor if you would share it with your neighbors and friends, directly via email or text/Signal message. These algorithms are janky. Also, if you haven’t subscribed to Letters from a Weirdo on Apple Podcasts, I’d love it if you would, just so that we can stay connected outside Pete Theil’s algorithmic nonsense.
Neighbor, there’s a conversation brewing called: “What the f@rk do we do?”
This podcast explains why it is critical that we are disciplined in our use of nonviolent civil disobedience. This isn’t just about an aversion to violence; this is about tactics and strategy. Bullies need you to think your only option is to fight them on the street. They need you feeling small and scared so you forget that our numbers are massive and that when we learn to move with each other, we will be unstoppable.
Right now, they want us to think we are stuck, that: (1) if we fight them with weapons, we will be annihilated and (2) if we do nothing, we will be annihilated anyhow, because they will pick us off one by one.
Terrifying, right? Sure is. Unless you see the situation from a larger frame.
See, they need you feeling distracted, lost, and small— so that you’ll accept their framework as a given. It’s not. It’s a con, the “art of the deal”— fool a person into thinking small.
The fact is that there’s a third option: we engage in massive, coordinated nonviolent civil defense— in such a way that every single person has a resource, talent, vision, and skill to share with one’s neighbors to become as ungovernable and as joyful as f^ck, right down to the zip code level.
I’m working with fellow travelers of nonviolent civil resistance to roll out the details of the plan I’m referring to above, but for now, I encourage you to do these three things:
* Listen to this podcast and, if it speaks to you, share it directly with a peer via text or email, to move around these fascist algorithmic streets.
* Host a weekly reading and strategy potluck with your neighbors to discuss Gene Sharp’s National Security through Civilian-Based Defense, free to download off of the International Center for Nonviolent Conflict’s website.
* Tune in for tomorrow’s podcast where you’ll get your next mission. (This isn’t a cliffhanger; I’m just tired, and writing a clear, compelling, and compassionate message is skilled labor that takes time.)
This podcast is an extended version of an essay I published earlier this evening. I’ll post that essay below. If this blog and its corresponding podcast speak to you, don’t just share it: let it move you into action.
(1 in 4) + (1 in 6) = the math that guarantees i won't shut up about epstein+ trump
christian nationalists and their fascist elite enablers are a danger to your kids

Jul 27, 2025
it’s weird. when i first started writing on this app, i assumed i was here to write about being a nonbinary trans person and to say: “hey, we’re not the scary people you think we are.” what i wasn’t quite prepared for was how this moment would require me to step into my truth as a survivor of childhood sexual assault.
as a survivor, what i was told— on loop— was that no one cared what i had to say, no one would believe me, and what i survived was too shameful to even talk about in polite society.
meanwhile, i have lived in a “polite” society that makes euphemisms to protect child rapists while joking about incest and lolitas, as if we were willing participants in the harm we survived. because that’s what child rapists, and the adult women who enable them, tell us: to just be quiet, don’t talk about it, and pretend it didn’t happen.
but when this all started happening— from the domestic abuse on a national scale that is fascism, to the direct connection between Christian nationalists and child rape— i thought: god dammit, if these people think they’re gonna take me out without a fight, they’ve got another thing coming.
so i started to talk to other survivors here, and i’ve gotten through to people who haven’t had to live through early childhood sexual harm. this moment is such a disturbing and dangerous time, but one of the things that keeps me hopeful is hearing, finally, all of the survivors of childhood sexual assault, who were so marginalized during the #MeToo movement, are finally speaking up.
this is no shade on the #MeToo movement in particular, so much as it’s all the shade on adults, writ large, who have been groomed to treat CSA survivors as freak shows, as if simply bearing witness to what happened to us is “icky” and we should just shut up about it because people are too uncomfortable to face that, in this country, 1 in 4 kids recorded female at birth and 1 in 6 kids recorded male at birth are sexually assaulted during their childhoods.
and, once more with feeling, people who rape kids? it’s never a one-off situation. these people never stop. it is exceptionally rare that kids who survive this kind of harm are one-time victims. their abuse is often chronic, and the reason it goes on is because the adults in their lives are so horrified by the truth that the only thing they seem to want to do is not believe the kids, because if they’re believed, it cracks everything wide open.
the rape of children in this country is endemic. every single one of you know a CSA survivor. every single one of you, whether you know it or not, know a kid right now who is being sexually harmed. and, adults, it’s time for you to grow up and face facts. because there are kids all around you who need your help.
many of us don’t make it out of childhood, and when we do, we’re often shamed into silence for decades. this has to stop. if this moment is coming to the fore, it is my sincere wish that you not approach this Epstein situation as some salacious bit of gossip, because when you treat it like theater, you are telling kids (once more) that their sexual harm is a form of passive entertainment for you—something to laugh uncomfortably about on a podcast or joke about between friends.
no more jokes.
stop laughing.
start getting angry.
start believing kids.
start demanding age-appropriate education around bodies and consent so that kids have the language to tell a safe person that they’re being harmed— and find a f*****g better system for reporting, because when a kid tells you they’re being harmed by a family member, and then you report that info back to the family member, you endanger kids’ lives.
if you want to know why christian nationalists don’t want consent, emotional education, age-appropriate sex ed, and safe groups for gender minorities in schools— it’s not because these programs are a “danger to kids”— it’s because those programs are a direct threat to people who rape kids.
i’ve worked in community college for over two decades. i cannot tell you how many times i have been the first safe adult a student has come to for help. and i don’t just give them a phone number for resources. i follow through and make sure they have the resources they need to get safe. because god dammit: i didn’t survive hell to keep my head down and play it safe.
these people who are in power right now? i know them well, and i know the danger they pose to your kids, and they have spent millions of dollars creating propaganda to get you scared of the very people who are standing in the breach to help young people who feel like they have no safe space to go.
so if you’re reading this and the words i write mean anything to you, honor my words by letting them shape your behavior. speak up more than you have before. shut down jokes about rape and incest. rebuke people who are trying to scapegoat vulnerable people. and, above all, call out christian nationalists’ pearl-clutching b******t, because everything they have ever done (from making republicans protect “child brides,” to axing sex ed programs, vilifying PFLAG, and stirring up disinfo about women’s and gender studies programs) has always been a coordinated effort to protect themselves from being held accountable for their endemic sexual violence.
i don’t know about you, but i refuse to shut up about this. because we absolutely DO need to protect kids, and it’s from the christian nationalists.
Thanks for spending time with my words, which will never be pay-walled. If you want to hear more from me, Subscribe below + follow me @ Letters from a Weirdo on Apple Podcast, Overcast, Spotify, or wherever you listen to podcasts. Be good to the weirdos.
Neighbors, most of us are about a paycheck away from homelessness. About 17 million of us are about to lose our health insurance. The promise of student loan forgiveness has betrayed low-salary public servants. They are gutting the and trying to privatize the VA. Energy prices and groceries are skyrocketing. And AI is about to steal most of our jobs, and, quite by design, we are not allowed to regulate AI for ten years— at least that’s what they tell us.
Y’all, 1 + 1 = 2, and these people are using AI to socially engineer a world in which people the regime doesn’t like end up homeless, and homeless people get put into “institutions where they will be humanely treated.”
This coming from the people who coined a Fascist Party death camp “Alligator Alcatraz.” No, the people who will be arrested, by ICE, will be sent to institutions where, if Stephen Miller, Curtis Yarvin, and Elon Musk have anything to do with it: they will be tortured and then disposed of.
And f**k this b******t. We are fighting back.
Neighbors, this podcast offers some background for an upcoming book I’m sharing out for people to build beloved communities of resistance in their own zip codes. This particular episode explains to frames: a weak fascist frame and a larger pro-life frame that offers every person dignity and redemption.
In particular I define two concepts. First, I need to help you stop being afraid of fascism because, in a way, many of us have seen this before. This is domestic abuse on a national scale, and to bring this point home, I have remixed the wheel of power and control (used in domestic violence survivor spaces) to demonstrate how what we are being subjected to is national abuse at scale.
Here’s my remixed wheel of power and control below. Do keep in mind that I explain the graphic in the podcast, so give it a listen.
If the wheel of power and control is a fascist frame, the frame below, depicted as a daisy, explains how we can combat fascism by getting into these daisy formations. Each of these nineteen petals describes something the fascists are trying to take away from us, and the goal of the Daisy Chain revolution is to pool resources together to refuse to let these b******s grind us down. We see what the are trying to do: create mass suffering and despair so that we are easier to control and less likely to resist. If you and your neighbors get into the daisy formation, we unsettle the tyrant’s power by refusing to play their games and, instead, turning toward one another— being proactive instead of reactive.
If you’ve like to hear what each petal does, listen to the podcast. It gives you an overview.
Your assignment, should you choose to accept it, is:
* Share this podcast with people in your neighborhood.
* Meet up over food and make a list of people who you might recruit to become a part of each one of these pods.
* Don’t worry if you don’t have everyone yet. Treat it like a scavenger hunt for cool neighbors. If you build it, they will come. This is just a first step.
In the meantime, I’m gonna keep writing this booklet, but I wanted to give you a little heads up for how you might prepare. Hope this helps.
And if you’re looking for a recruitment flyer, I’ve already got the hookup for you. Use the one below— just fill out the date, time, and place. I highly recommend setting up a first meeting at a library. Bring food to share. It takes a village to fight domestic abusers.
Neighbor, what if I told you the solution to this moment isn’t about being willing to take up arms and die for your country? That’s actually not how we end this— not if we want decency, agency, and human life to prevail. What we need, each of us, is to be courageous enough to get offline and love our neighbors.
If you find yourself sucking your teeth at these words, I want to encourage you, especially, to take time to listen to this episode. I’m not asking you to believe me. I’m asking you to let the words percolate, to have the courage to hear them.
Neighbor, there is a nonviolent way forward in this— one that will result in saving lives, preventing any more needless suffering, and coming back to a central human truth which appears to have been evading us since the inception of supremacy culture: we are, across time and distance, neighbors. we are each other’s keepers, and we are each reflections of the divine.
The moment we step courageously into that truth, the quicker this all ends and the more beauty we will experience. This isn’t naievte: this is the spiritual warfare of disarmament.
Listen in. And if this reasonates, don’t just share it here, directly share this podcast with the people in your orbit. The revolution will not be digitized.
Watch this space, neighbor. I’m writing something for you that I think is gonna give you a whle lot of your hope and your agency back— and just might help us save our neighbors from the brink.
Our collective liberation isn’t just possible: it’s already here. It just needs you to answer the call.
Neighbor, I’m not going to give a long description for this podcast today. This podcast episode is an update about the blueprint for movement-building I’ve shared with you in “So the Bill Passed. Now What?” and “Here’s the Plan to End This.”
Today’s episode begins with some good news about building nonviolence civil resistance communities in your neighborhood, and it offers an important message about why maintaining nonviolent civil resistance is crucial for getting security forces to defect. If you’d like to read more about encouraging security forces defections, I recommend this article from the International Center for Nonviolent Conflict.
