Etta James became once of my biggest influences after Beyonce played her as a character in the movie "Cadillac Records."

This week on LEXCHAT, let's chat about facing certain difficulties in the music journey that deter you from music. In my experience, having to pour so much into others has truly been a challenge in learning how to balance my output to others versus my output to myself. What are some challenges you face?

love music, but I do not love the industry around it. I'm sure other industries have their downfalls, but with music specifically there just seems to be so many ill-intended barriers. What do you think?

Mmm...The argument of whether or not music is influential to the masses is brought up again in this recent statement from Glorilla, who complains about the mindset of a generation HER music helps to denigrate.

This is a cute song. The production reminds me of snap and crunk music, which gives a bit of nostalgia, but I find the mix to be a bit thin. Nice recommendation, though! What should I react to next?

This week on LEXCHAT, we're chatting about music's influence on people! This comes after a week of commentary on the (maybe) NBA player Ja Morant, who recently came under fire for waving around a firearm on social media. Is he a grown man who can make his own decisions, or did the music MAKE him act contrary to his NBA signed representation?
